Rodriguez joins Nicolas Cage as the titular hero (believed to be a new take on Ben Reilly), along with Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston.
An official synopsis was released, but according to a more detailed breakdown (via Daniel Richtman), Ben Reilly (Cage) will be up against Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, and Yuri Watanabe, aka Wraith.

It looks like we finally have a streaming release date for the upcoming fantasy romance movie Girl Haunts Boy. It will reportedly be released on Netflix this October. The exact date is Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, so make sure to save the date!
We first learned of this movie back in May 2022. However, it wasn't titled Girl Haunts Boy back then, nor was it billed as a movie. In fact, Netflix wasn't involved with the project in any way. Max, which was called HBO Max at the time, had greenlit the project, which was originally titled B-Loved. And instead of it being a movie, it was going to be a two-part television special event premiering on Max in time for Valentine’s Day 2023.
It's unclear what happened, but the special didn't end up being released on Max in February 2023. It didn't even come out this February. Now, we've just learned that Netflix...

We've all been there before.
You fall in love with a show. You fall in love with the characters. You fall in love with a Universe. And then, suddenly, without warning, your favorite show is canceled, and you feel a tremendous loss.
Television can be a comfort to many, and when you find that show or that perfect character that you connect with, it downright sucks to know you won't get to see them anymore.
Over the years, many shows have been cut short ahead of their time.
While others may have had a decent run, with years under their belt, the cancellation can still feel abrupt, especially when they don't get to end the series on their own terms.
We've seen fan campaigns change studios' minds and cancellations reversed at the last minute (S.W.A.T. says hi!), but unfortunately, most shows don't have that same luck.

Teri Polo has booked a mystery role over on CBS’ FBI: International — though we have a fun theory on who she could be playing.
Polo of course has starred on TV’s The Fosters and its offshoot Good Trouble, as well as Fox’s one-and-done The Big Leap. And as far as broadcast-tv procedurals go, she had a mini arc on CBS’ own NCIS that spanned the Season 19 finale and Season 20 premiere, playing Special Agent Alden Parker’s ex-wife, Vivan.

I think it is about time. Many projects to come out in the past year on television and in film have had many elements of dance in them. ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ had several dance numbers per episode, ‘In the Heights’ was filled with enormous and joyful group routines, Steven Speilberg’s ‘West Side Story’ will surely have similar levels of dance, and there’s even going to be an entire primetime show on Fox starting in the fall that’s a show about the making of a dance show called ‘The Big Leap.’ With the amount of dance in these high-profile projects, they rely heavily on choreographers to make their final product look as smooth and grand as possible, yet when you go on a site like IMDb and look at the production credits, the choreography team is listed under “additional crew.

Exclusive: Adam Beach (The Power of the Dog) has signed on to star in an untitled new film, based on the true story of decorated Native American fire captain Paul Fullerton, which will be directed and produced by Garry A. Brown (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
Shooting in Dallas, Texas, the film watches as Fullerton’s life and family are turned dangerously upside down when a career-ending accident draws him into the uncharted world of marijuana, and a local district attorney and his small group of rogue police take the law into their own hands. It was in 2016 that Fullerton and his wife Maricel’s home was raided by a multi-agency task force. The couple was targeted and unjustly accused of selling and distributing marijuana, the effects of which are still being felt in an ongoing court process today.
Brown developed and wrote the project with Natalie Dickinson.

Exclusive: Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), and Larry Joe Campbell (The Orville) have been set for guest star roles in the forthcoming second season of Fox’s popular workplace comedy Animal Control, starring Joel McHale.
Others set to appear in S2 guest roles, as previously announced, include Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith.
Premiering last February, the show created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. McHale plays Frank, an opinionated, eccentric Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. A former cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and curmudgeonly. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals.

Bob Lee Swagger remains one of the most badass television characters ever.
The USA Network series, Shooter, was one of the finest, coming at a time when the cable network ran supreme with endless content for everyone's viewing.
With slick action sequences, subterfuge, and adrenaline-pumping thrills, the series, more often than not, was a must-see summer show for three seasons until its unfortunate cancellation.
TV Fanatic followed along with the journey from beginning to end with full coverage in our Shooter Reviews. It is still a perfectly binge-able series that you can stream on Netflix, at least until June 21, when Netflix loses the rights for it.
It bolstered an impressive cast led by none other than Ryan Phillippe. But where is the cast now? Let's find out!
Jaina Lee Ortiz - Angela Tio
Ortiz had a small arc during Shooter Season 2, guest-starring as Angela Tio, a sergeant Bob Lee served with during the Marines.

Scott Foley (The Big Leap) has been tapped for a key recurring role opposite Melissa Benoist in The Girls On The Bus, HBO Max’s political drama series from Warner Bros. TV.
The series centers on Sadie McCarthy (Benoist), a journalist who romanticizes Tim Crouse’s Boys on the Bus book and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace, Lola (Natasha Behnam) and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House.

Scott Foley has joined the cast of the upcoming HBO Max series “The Girls on the Bus,” Variety has learned.
Foley joins previously announced cast members Melissa Benoist, Christina Elmore, and Natasha Behnam in the show, which was ordered straight-to-series at HBO Max in February after having been set up at both Netflix and The CW. The show was ordered to series at Netflix but after the pandemic delayed the start of production it moved to HBO Max.
“The Girls on the Bus” is inspired by a chapter in Amy Chozick’s book “Chasing Hillary.” It is described as a comedic character-driven drama that chronicles four female journalists who follow every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, while finding friendship, love, and scandal along the way.

Video Version of this Article Photo: Choreographers Many projects to come out in the past year on television and in film have had many elements of dance in them. ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’ had several dance numbers per episode, ‘In the Heights’ was filled with enormous and joyful group routines, Steven Speilberg’s ‘West Side Story’ will surely have similar levels of dance, and there’s even going to be an entire primetime show on Fox starting in the fall that’s a show about the making of a dance show called ‘The Big Leap.’ With the amount of dance in these high-profile projects, they rely heavily on choreographers to make their final product look as smooth and grand as possible, yet when you go on a site like IMDb and look at the production credits, the choreography team is listed under “additional crew.” It’s time we give these...

When TV academy voters sit down to fill out their 2022 Emmy nominations ballots, they have to consider 118 shows for Best Comedy Series; this is up by 50 contenders from last year. Since 2017, voters have not had to limit their choices to just 10 shows. The TV academy tells its members to “vote for as many achievements in this category that you have seen and feel are worthy of a nomination.”

Who would have guessed that we'd be waiting until the Fox are upfronts are underway to learn the fate of two of its most popular series?
In an exciting development, 9-1-1 and The Resident have landed eleventh-hour renewals at Fox.
Deadline revealed that the deals closed just ahead of the Fox upfront presentation at 4 Pm Et.
It truly was a nail-biting day for fans of both shows because Fox had renewed many lower-rated shows early Monday.
With the news that Fantasy Island Season 2 had been postponed from its planned summer launch to the fall, it seemed like Fox was prepared for losing one or both series.
9-1-1 is Fox-s highest-rated scripted series, and with the news that 9-1-1 Lone Star had been renewed, it was only a matter of time before the mothership landed a pickup.
The late renewals for both shows was a shocker, but the delay was more concerning for The Resident.

April showers gave way to May flowers, and April meetings among network executives led to the cancellations and renewals of existing broadcast series. Of course, there were plenty of nail-biter decisions made in May regarding CBS’, NBC’s, Fox’s, ABC’s, and The CW’s slate.
Find all of the cancels and renewals below. We should note here that not every cancelled TV show goes away on bad terms: Among the 20-something or so series we won’t be seeing again in the 2022-23 season, there were a few preplanned decisions — like the ending of NBC’s “This Is Us” and ABC’s “Black-ish” — that got mixed in.
You’ll notice we only focused on scripted series here. Sans a handful of perennial reality standouts like CBS’ “Survivor,” which has been officially renewed for Season 43, unscripted programming kind of does its own thing on its own schedule. Yeah, the...

While measuring the success of broadcast series has largely been a job for the TV ratings among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic, that total viewer tally is still powerful and not to be ignored.
With the end of the 2021-2022 season fast approaching, Variety has looked at 33 weeks of complete Nielsen data from September to May to assess what the most and least-watched primetime scripted series have been across NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox.
The below total viewer averages are season-long for each show and include persons over the age of 2, which is what Nielsen counts as a viewer. The totals are based on Nielsen’s “most current” data stream through May 8, which includes a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available.
For the “most” list, it is ranked beginning with the top show. For the “least” list, it starts with the weakest in the top slot and goes up from there.

The traditional September to May broadcast TV season is coming to a close in a few weeks. Though there are still several finales left to air during that period, including the series closer for NBC’s tearjerker “This Is Us,” it’s pretty clear at this point what the highest and lowest rated scripted shows are that have aired across the so-called “Big 4” broadcast networks throughout the 2021-2022 season.
Keeping in mind there could always be slight adjustments to these season-long averages by the end of the month, Variety has sorted through Nielsen’s “most current” data through May 8 to rank ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox’s best and worst performers among adults 18-49.
Below are the lists, which count 33 completed weeks of the soon-ending season. These ratings are averages across the scripted shows’ respective seasons and based on a week’s worth of delayed viewing.
