Topping Out Ceremony for the Justice Center! 🎉 The City of Lone Tree celebrated a major milestone last week with the topping out ceremony for the new Lone Tree Justice Center, marking the completion of the building’s structural steel frame and the transition from vertical construction to interior work. The ceremony, attended by City Council, City staff, design and construction teams, honored the tradespeople whose skill and dedication have brought the project to this point. In keeping with a centuries-old construction tradition, an evergreen tree and an American flag were placed atop the final beam before it was hoisted into place — symbolizing growth, good fortune, and a safe jobsite. Mayor Harmon highlighted Lone Tree's deep and active commitment to excellent public safety, sharing how this facility will be a major investment for Lone Tree Police and Courts staff that serve our community daily. We're particularly proud of our sensory inclusive programming that creates a welcoming, friendly environment for people of all ages on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities. The Great Pumpkin Showdown - Lone Tree Celebrates Halloween! 🎃 Earlier this week, City staff got into the Halloween spirit with our annual pumpkin decorating contest. Creativity was off the charts this year – but the Community Development team came out on top! Their "Taking Lone Tree to New Heights" concept was by far the tallest pumpkin, and was voted this year's winner. 🏙️ Even our Victim Services therapy dog Mikey joined in on the pumpkin fun – no tricks for this good boy, just treats! 🐶🍬 Our other submissions included: - Public Works: Safe Road Crossing 🦺 - City Manager's Office: Jurrasic Park Meadows 🦖 - City Clerk and Municipal Court: Extraterrestrial Encounter 👽 - Police: Despicable Me 💛 - Finance and Human Resource: Movie Night 🍿

The Lone Tree Planning Commission is seeking new members to help the city implement its master plans and to review proposed development projects in Lone Tree. You don’t have to be an expert, just someone who thinks holistically, enjoys learning new information, and wants to serve as a steward of the Lone Tree community. 🔍 We're looking for people with: - An innovative mind and an eye for detail - General knowledge of some aspect(s) of development (e.g. construction, land use, economic development, housing, parks or natural resources) - A desire to be a champion of the Lone Tree community, both now, and into the future - Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills 🤝 As a Commissioner, you'll: - Provide project recommendations to City Council - Attend groundbreaking ceremonies and ribbon cuttings for new development - Receive training on a variety of topics related to land use and development - Participate in community engagement events - Preserve Lone Tree’s deep roots and take Lone Tree to new heights!
