  • Have you seen the new mural on the south side of Arapahoe Community College? The mural, titled “Roots of Learning, Wings of Growth,” was done by Colorado-based artist Shania Lauren Cissell, with the help of more than a dozen Arapahoe Community College students. It celebrates many aspects of the campus community, including the pursuit of wisdom and personal development, the diversity of the student body, and the foundational support provided by educators. This is the very first outdoor mural on the Arapahoe Community College campus. Be sure to stop by and check it out the next time you’re in the area!

  • ❄️ As winter approaches, Littleton’s snowplow crews are ready to keep the city’s streets clear! Littleton has six snowplows that hit the streets, following the Snow Priority Route Map. Plowing of the city’s protected bike lanes occurs after the clearing of adjacent street plowing to avoid recovering with snow and ice. Remember: residents and businesses are required by city code to remove snow from sidewalks and other public rights-of-way on their property (including RTD bus stops) within 24 hours after every snowfall. • THROWBACK THURSDAY: On Election Day, November 7, 1893, the referendum on women's suffrage took place and suffragists won the right to vote in all elections in the State of Colorado. Congregating at the Town of Littleton’s rented rooms in the back of Evans’ Bakery, at what is now 2450 W. Main Street, all voters would fill out their ballots (likely printed up by the Littleton Independent newspaper), then deposit them in this octagonal glass and oak wood ballot box. Made circa 1900 in Denver, the glass allowed voters to see their ballot dropping in and minimizing fears of tampering. For security, three separate locks – each with a different key – were used to safeguard the collected ballots. This exact ballot box was transferred to the Littleton Museum by the City Clerk’s Office in 1978.

  • Are you passionate about public service and financial stewardship? Do you have a strong understanding of grant accounting, compliance, and project management?
