  • possessed by an algorithm? platform stealing 10% percent of your soul? screaming because you can only send emails? we don't do exorcisms, but we can get you away from the platform that's been haunting your business - take 30% off beehiiv 👻

  • Dave Jorgenson grew The Washington Post’s TikTok to nearly 2 million followers, then left to build an audience he actually owns. 📰 Now he runs Local News International with a three-person team and no paid ads. Video gets them discovered, and their beehiiv newsletter keeps readers close. Within months of launch, they had a five-figure list, ~60% open rates and 10%+ click-throughs, with memberships driving their early revenue. Boosts, referrals, automations and memberships. All built in. 🐝 You don’t need a big team to own your audience, start building on beehiiv.

I cannot believe I get to type these words, but.. I have a new role 🤯 🤯 🤯 You're looking at the newest creator in residence @ beehiiv EEEK!!!! 😍🪩 But.. if you've never heard of a creator in residence.. lol you’d be forgiven. It’s a super new kinda role! I'll be: ~ creating long-form educational videos for youtube ~ sharing my journey building Generalist World 🌀 to 55,000+ subscribers ~ getting to help LOTS of folks build indie, profitable businesses with a newsy at the centre (get started here with 30% off https://lnkd.in/eG-VWVYS) which is the COOLEST THING EVERRRR It's a fractional gig that I'll do on the side of my GW work :) truly building out that portfolio career life! 🌀 And while update is ofc fun for me, I think it reallyyy matters for *everybody* because this role didn't exist even a year ago. I didn't apply for it. I didn't send them a CV. I didn't "interview". I've been a super-fan of the product for years, we built a genuine(!) relationship, and then shaped a role around it. I have extra thoughts for the extra-curious that I'll share in the comments, but pls come and ask any Qs you may have! And if you're looking for the sign to start that newsletter / podcast / digi product.. you know who to come chat to! 🙋♀️ 🪩 reply with your fave celebratory GIF 🪩 #beehiivpartner

  • Inbox Famous Episode 4: Kyle Poyar 🎯The Real Job: “Your product could help save the world, but you’ve got to figure out who really cares about it.” Everyone thinks it’s a marketing problem. Kyle says it’s a targeting problem. The guy behind Growth Unhinged breaks down the actual work of turning great tech into a sustainable business: find the customer who truly cares, figure out how to reach them, then grow their value over time. Full episode on YouTube, link in comments. 🎙️

  • If anyone knows how unpredictable the algorithm can be, it’s a creator who teaches social media for a living. Sarah Whittle has 450K followers and wanted a place to build that didn’t depend on any of those platforms. So Sara built her website, her newsletter and her community (Socialdown Society) all on beehiiv, and 1,300 people have signed up since June. Her advice for anyone still thinking about it: “If you love to write, why not?” 🦄

  • Inbox Famous Episode 4: Kyle Poyar ⏳One Rule for Solopreneurs⏳: “Get really good at time management and prioritization.” His newsletter is called Growth Unhinged, but his actual advice is the opposite of chaos. Kyle runs the whole operation solo, and the real secret isn’t some growth hack, it’s discipline. "Rethink how you’re working, find ways to shut out distractions, and focus on what really matters." Full episode on YouTube, link in comments. 🎙️

  • Jonathan Levitt drove $850K in sales for two partners on about $35K of spend, and he’d still rather have 100 dedicated listeners than 10,000. He started For The Long Run in 2019 to share his conversations with trail runners and elite athletes. Seven years and roughly 500 episodes later, he sells sponsorships on outcomes instead of impressions, bundling the podcast, newsletter and live events into one package. In 2023 he picked beehiiv over Kit for email, then moved both podcasts over for the beehiiv MCP. Now his shows, the For the Long Run newsletter and his website all run in one place: → ~500 episodes over seven years → ~1,100 new leads from a single giveaway → A full site rebuild in one weekend “The isolated tech stack does not make sense anymore… beehiiv made it possible to log into one less thing.” — Jonathan Levitt His advice to creators: find your weird. 🐝
