The secret to planning a great event starts with the marketing. It’s easy to jump straight into logistics, but that’s actually step two. Before you plan anything, think about the offer. 🪝 What’s the hook? 📅 Why would someone take time out of their week to go? Once you’re clear on that, the logistics come together naturally.

People need community. A sounding board. A place to connect, trade ideas, and feel understood. That’s what Exit Five is. A space for B2B marketers to learn, grow, and talk shop with people who actually get it. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Dmitry. Because yeah… your neighbor doesn’t care about your MQLs. But we do.

Exit Five local chapters are going off right now. The Phoenix crew recently spent a morning playing pickleball, eating pastries, and hanging out with other B2B marketers. We have to say the photos definitely gave us some fomo. Other chapters have been getting creative too: rage rooms, BBQ smoker tours, even a haunted castle last night. We’ve got 22 cities running local meetups right now, so chances are there’s something happening near you if you want to join in. Local chapters are for Exit Five members only, but membership gets you access to local chapters along with our online community with 5,700 members, 1:1 matchmaking with other B2B marketers, and more. Are you a creative, results-obsessed, and operationally-minded marketing leader? Then Spark's open Director of Demand Generation role might be perfect for you. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill B2B SaaS gig. Spark is rethinking how independent Medicare brokers grow and serve clients, with tech that actually helps them do their jobs better. What you’ll do: - Own the demand gen strategy across digital, field, and partner channels - Drive pipeline growth and campaign performance - Partner with Sales, RevOps, and Product Marketing to keep GTM tight - Lead and grow a small team while still getting your hands dirty They’re looking for someone who’s done this before, 5–8+ years in demand gen, proven track record in B2B SaaS, and the ability to build programs from scratch. 💰 $180–200K base (up to $240K OTE) 🌎 Remote in the U.S. 💡 Equity, healthcare, 401k, sabbatical, and flexible work If you’re a demand gen leader ready to join a mission-driven startup shaking up the insurance industry, this is the one. 16 member-led events in the last 2 months inside Exit Five. We're officially going HARD on in-person events with members. And some of the events are super fun and unique too... Our Austin Chapter did a rage room event where members printed out a picture of their boss, taped it to glass, and then smashed it with a bat... 🤭 I'm kidding... no picture of the boss, but they really did do a rage room and really did break glass n sh*t. (picture 8) Our Phoenix Chapter did a Pickleball day and then finished it off with homemade cinnamon rolls. Cause you know what they say, cinnamon rolls are perfect for post-workout recovery!! (picture 9) Oh, and lastly, our Toronto chapter did a dinner, and when I told them I was with Exit Five, they gave me a free tower of Aperol Spritz. Wow!! Who knew Exit Five was that well known in the mainstream too! #LinkedInFamous (picture 4) But honestly, when someone asks me the value of community, it's the stuff like this. It's the ability to build relationships with people who live in your small bubble of the world (which in our case is B2B marketing). Relationships that lead to new friendships, bosses, colleagues, business partners... You would never be able to do that on your own, or have the time or energy. That's why communities exist. They do the heavy lifting on gathering the right people, and you get to reap the benefits.

A bit of career advice for your Monday: 💡 Instead of fixing your weaknesses, double down on your strengths. The Exit Five team asked Dave 15 random questions about work and life and one of those questions was what’s the best career advice you’ve ever received? This advice came from Dave trying to do everything and his old boss at Drift told him stick to what you’re good at because you’ll go farther becoming an A+ at what you’re already good at. Its better than trying to make a D skill a B. If you’re feeling stuck about what to focus on in your career try thinking about what skills you’re really good at and it might make things a little bit clearer. 15 questions with Dave is below👇

♜ Arthur came to spin the wheel and left rethinking his whole approach to messaging. His biggest takeaway from Drive came from Diane Wiredu 🦁's talk on messaging: We don’t need to cram every message with “value.” Every so often it’s better to step back, zoom out, and see the bigger picture. Because sometimes the smartest move is saying less and meeting buyers where they are.

Kelly Cheng didn’t “get promoted” to CMO. She built her way there. Started in growth. Said yes to everything. Learned how the whole engine worked. Now she runs marketing at Goldcast with a 30-person team made up of full-time and freelance marketers. She also led their shift from product led to sales led. She broke down how she runs marketing today: - How she keeps marketing and BD aligned around pipeline - What changes when you go from managing programs to managing people - The questions she asks to vet a company before saying yes to leadership She’s proof that moving from marketer to CMO isn’t luck. It’s range, reps, and learning the business inside out.
