Dushiant Kochhar posted thisAI Agents Can Accelerate Delivery, But They Can't Own Quality One of my recent learnings while working with AI agents is that you cannot blindly follow their recommendations. AI can generate code, suggest architectures, and accelerate development, but it lacks the full context of your company, customer expectations, existing systems, and technical constraints. In one case, we used AI-generated code to accelerate development and got to a working solution much faster. However, as we moved further into implementation, we realized that parts of the solution would not scale well for our usage base. We ended up spending additional time refactoring the code, improving its scalability, and performing more comprehensive testing than we had initially planned. The upfront speed was valuable, but some of that time savings was offset by downstream work. The responsibility still sits with the team to understand the code being written, review the design decisions, and thoroughly test the output. Skipping these steps may create the illusion of speed, but it often results in more technical debt, higher maintenance costs, and rework later. AI can help us move faster but sustainable velocity comes from balancing speed with quality. The cost of a missed defect, poor architectural decision, or unvalidated assumption is usually much higher than the time saved upfront. #AI #ProductManagement #ProductLeadership #Innovation

Dushiant Kochhar posted thisA lot of AI discussion is focused on the front-end experience and new shiny objects - - Can users ask questions in natural language? - Can AI summarize a dashboard? - Can we add a chatbot to an existing product? These are useful capabilities but I think there is another big opportunity in the stack. In data-heavy industries like healthcare, every new customer implementation is still too manual. Teams spend weeks understanding source systems, interpreting local definitions, mapping fields to a standard model, validating transformations, and documenting exceptions. This is where AI agents can create real leverage. Imagine a supervised assembly line across the data pipeline: • One agent profiles incoming data • Another detects schema differences • Another recommends mappings • Another checks data quality • Another explains exceptions Humans stay in the loop for judgment, validation, and governance. The agent reduces blank-page work while the human provides context and approval. In my experience, this can reduce implementation cycles by 70–80%, improve consistency, and shorten time to value. For us product leaders, the lesson is simple: Don’t limit AI strategy to user-facing copilots. AI can be used in multiple ways. #AI #GenerativeAI #AgenticAI #DataStrategy #ProductManagement #EnterpriseAI #HealthcareAI #DigitalTransformation #DataProducts #HumanInTheLoop Some of the highest-value AI opportunities are in the messy, expert-heavy workflows behind the product. #AI #GenerativeAI #AgenticAI #DataStrategy #ProductManagement #EnterpriseAI #HealthcareAI #DigitalTransformation #DataProducts #HumanInTheLoop

Dushiant Kochhar shared thisThank you Jason. I completely agree. A number of organizations ignore all that is underneath.. These are the lessons my teams have learned over the past couple of years.Dushiant Kochhar shared thisThe boardroom sees the tip of the iceberg: "AI will transform us, let's move fast." Meanwhile, the people actually building are underwater, navigating legacy systems, broken data pipelines, integration debt, and codebases that nobody documented. AI isn't magic you sprinkle on top of a messy stack. It amplifies whatever's underneath it, good or bad. The real competitive advantage isn't having an AI strategy deck, it's having systems that are actually understood, calibrated, and ready to support one. If you want AI to deliver on its promise, start by looking at what's below the waterline.

Dushiant Kochhar reposted thisDushiant Kochhar reposted thisURGENT - I know these postings look pathetic but I’ve been unemployed for too long and I’m not breaking this job market. It is in fact urgent because I’ve spent through almost all my savings. I was laid off from my job at Google 2 years ago when there were a lot of layoffs. Two years. I keep ATS confirmation emails from job applications in a folder and since layoff I have applied to 3700 jobs and emailed 2200 founders. I'm getting nowhere. I DESPERATELY need a regular job (or monthly contract). It probably has to be a REFERRAL because of the hiring environment today. Also, my present job is just the very rare short term contract. I can start immediately. I’ve worked at both large companies (including Google) and small startups. I've placed people with all sorts of backgrounds like engineers (including security engineers from the FBI, CIA, etc), artists, finance execs, marketing and others. Please mention me to your friends or hire me. Please. (I will post this daily)

Dushiant Kochhar posted thisAI cannot provide the leadership. The product leader needs to build a credible vision, understand the customer pain points and rally the people. He or she needs to ensure that value is delivered, not just the features. And, must use the judgement throughout the process. #ProductLeadership #AI #ProductManagement

Dushiant Kochhar posted thisToday product teams need to focus on both delivery and experimentation. Given the rapid pace of new offerings in the AI space, it’s important that teams focus not just on delivery but also on experimentation. Here’s how my team is trying to weave it together — - Buy-in from management – Get management buy-in on experimentation early, so there are no surprises and you secure the requisite budget. - Resource allocation – We allocate a set % of our resources to experimentation, and that share varies with the lifecycle of the product. - Be thoughtful – There can be many experiments, but prioritize them by value (scalability, accuracy, alignment with the current stack). Sometimes we need to time-box; other times we have to step back and expand the work. - Share the findings – Share the results of experimentation with the broader team so they can be incorporated into the product. Not every experiment will be incorporated in the final release. Summary: Shipping without learning new things feels impractical these days—especially when you’re working on AI-enabled products. Managing and balancing the two will make the difference in customer value, speed, and quality. #AI #GenAI #ProductManagement

Dushiant Kochhar posted thisMy team is building an LLM-powered analytics chatbot. With it, users can ask data questions in plain English instead of writing SQL. Our goal: put trusted insights in every member’s hands. Here’s what we’ve learned: Know the user flow and goals: You can’t ship a “do-everything” bot. Learn the real steps people follow, the drill-downs they need, and the data they expect. A tight focus makes the product work. Start small: Crawl, walk, run. Build a proof of concept, test, learn, and grow. The Gen AI stack changes fast, so trial and error is normal. Set clear expectations: With AI, teams are still learning. Share date ranges, not hard deadlines, with leaders and customers. Push to deliver, but protect trust. Describe the data: Whether you hit tables or APIs, the bot needs clear field names and meanings. A solid semantic layer is the key to good answers. LLMs are just one slice of AI. We’re also exploring other AI tools to fix bigger pain points for our members. — Dushiant Kochhar #AI #GenAI #ProductManagement

Dushiant Kochhar reacted on thisMy organization is implementing a Gen-AI based application that connects to our internal data sources also while providing the responses. I’m exploring how different teams build advanced feedback loops for such applications beyond simple “thumbs up/down.” - Feedback to collect - What feedback other than just thumbs Up/ Thumbs Down have you collected? - Reinforcement - What approaches have you taken to improve the responses based on this feedback? - Metrics - What metrics did you use to track this and what were some of the results? - Recommendations: Which articles, blogs, or case studies guided your approach? I’d love to hear how you tackled this and what results you’ve seen. Drop your insights, references, or war stories below! #AI #GenerativeAI #HumanInTheLoop #AIFeedback

Dushiant Kochhar reacted on thisDushiant Kochhar reacted on thisBeing a father is not easy. The world is a harsh place. And we must prepare our children to preserve and protect their compassion, humanity and dignity long after we are gone. And so we fight every instinct, and we let them fail. We give them the freedom to fail, and the courage to get back up yet again, regardless of the odds. As a father, you know that darkness that looms just at the edge of the light. And as a father, you know that to grow, and find their path, your children must go right into the heart of the darkness, face their fears, and illuminate it with their light. And you also know they risk losing the path, after all, you have faced it yourself. And when that happens, when they feel lost, you hope they can remember some part of you that can guide them back… Over the last few weeks, I have been feeling a little lost, and the events in Delhi over the last few days only worsened how I felt. And just when I started to feel lost, felt like retreating, and losing hope, it’s almost as if Dad sensed it and reached out to show me the light, 7 years after he passed. On my childhood journal, I found a message from him... "Love thyself last: cherish those hearts that hate thee; Corruption wins not more than honesty. Still in thy right hand carry gentle peace, To silence envious tongues. Be just, and fear not" A quote from Shakespeare's King Henry VIII. He wrote it unknown to me, when I was probably too young to understand what he meant. Over the years, I lost the journal, and the spirit of the message. And just when I needed it most, the journal found me to remind me that no matter how dark it gets, there is light within you still. You just need to remember it. “Be just, and fear not.” Move forward. In truth. With courage.

When patients can access their own data, everything changes. The new partnership between HealthEx, CLEAR, and athenahealth is a big win for interoperability and for people. By simplifying identity verification and connecting directly through #TEFCA, patients can finally see and share their complete health record without a stack of forms or phone calls. That kind of access is not just about convenience. It is about equity. When everyday people can actually use their data, they can advocate for themselves, coordinate care across systems, and close the gaps that often exist between healthcare and care. There is still a missing piece. Behavioral health, social care, and community-based data rarely travel with medical records, yet these are the details that shape outcomes, influence recovery, and determine who gets follow-up versus who falls through the cracks. Progress is happening, but it is time to finish the job. We need behavioral health, social, and community data to live in the same ecosystem so coordinated care becomes the norm, not the exception. https://lnkd.in/gEJUfDmx #PatientAccess #LastMileInteroperability

From a clinical perspective, this article reinforces why consistency matters as much as expertise. Reliable outcomes require reliable systems that support clinicians in delivering the same standard of care regardless of where or by whom that care is delivered. CMS expectations are clearly moving in that direction.

Healthcare costs continue to rise, yet the quality of care has largely stayed the same. The future of healthcare depends on how we harness data and AI to truly transform the experience. UChicago Medicine is showing what’s possible. By unifying fragmented patient data with Salesforce Data Cloud and layering in intelligent actions with Agentforce, they’ve created personalized outreach, streamlined operations, and freed up staff to focus on delivering higher-value care. This is the power of moving beyond siloed systems and embracing data-driven, AI-powered transformation: better outcomes, lower costs, and experiences that feel seamless and human. After all, nothing is more personal than our health. Excited to see leaders like Andrew Chang and the UChicago Medicine team partner with Salesforce to set the pace for what healthcare can and should become. https://lnkd.in/ey8M8WSS
