"Title Theme"[1] is a musical theme composed by Lawrence Schwedler for Mario vs. Donkey Kong, where it plays in the game's title screen. It is a mashup arrangement of "Ground BGM" from Super Mario Bros. and "Title BGM" from the Nintendo Entertainment System version of Donkey Kong.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong marks the first appearance of "Title Theme". An additional arrangement of "Title Theme" plays during the staff credits after completing the boss level Donkey Kong Plus.

In the Nintendo Switch remake, a faithful arrangement of "Title Theme" plays for the same purpose as in the original game. The staff credits theme does not receive a new arrangement, as the theme that plays during the staff credits is instead an original composition.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem![edit]

In Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, a marching band arrangement of "Title Theme" arranged by Lawrence Schwedler in the key of E♭ major plays in the title screen. The main melody is played on trumpet with flute, tuba, snare drum and cymbal accompaniment. This theme also features a new extended melody not heard in previous games in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.

An additional arrangement of "Title Theme" plays in the Options menu. This theme is played solely on flutes, and it omits the melody of "Title BGM" from Donkey Kong.

In Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, an arrangement of "Title Theme" arranged by James Phillipsen plays in the title screen. The main melody is played on a violin rather than a trumpet. This arrangement also features the extended melody from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! arrangement.

In Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge, a faster-paced arrangement of "Title Theme" arranged by James Phillipsen plays in the title screen. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars arrangement of "Title Theme" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Super Mario-series stage. It is titled "Title Theme - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars" in the game's sound test.
