"Results (1st − 4th Place)",[1] also known as "Winning Results",[2] "Result #1 (Win)",[3] "Results Theme",[4] "Results Screen A",[1] or simply "Results Screen",[5] is a musical theme composed by Kenta Nagata for Mario Kart 64, where it plays after the player finishes a Grand Prix race in first to fourth place.
Due to a binary counter glitch in the game,[citation needed] the second half of the theme does not play until the first half loops 64 times, after which the second half loops twice and returns to the first.

Mario Kart World[edit]
In Mario Kart World, all five of the race results themes incorporate brief arrangements of "Results (1st − 4th Place)" at the start of their melodies.
The theme that plays when placing in first plays the melody on a saxophone. At about 5 minutes and 43 seconds, an entirely new section plays, possibly referencing the original theme's glitch. This section also loosely quotes "Dolphin Shoals (On the Sea)" from Mario Kart 8. When placing in second to ninth place, the melody is replaced by an organ, as well as a harmonica after the key change. A more electronic and ethereal arrangement, which plays the melody on an EWI, plays when finishing a race on Rainbow Road in any placement.
The theme that plays when placing in tenth to eighteenth place is slower and less up-beat, and uses a trumpet for its melody. When placing in nineteenth to twenty-fourth place, the trumpet is replaced by a harmonica.
A full, faithful, jazz-funk arrangement of "Results (1st − 4th Place)" can play in Free Roam, usually during nighttime. It also incorporates quotes of "Underground BGM" from Super Mario Bros. in its bassline. It is titled "Results Screen" in the game's pause menu.
