Roles and Responsibilities
-Responsible for a 10 bed capacity ER unit and 2 Trauma room unit in a tertiary
hospital
-Provides care to emergent and non emergent cases.
-Take vital signs accurately.
-Responsible for triaging patients based on the severity of illness.
-Identify and manage life-sustaining physiologic functions in unstable patients.
-Observes normal vs abnormal findings of physical assessments and basic allied
diagnostics, normal values of laboratory results and for immediate and accurate
endorsement, management or referral.
-Administers medications, parenteral injections, IV infusion and treatments.
-Admits patient seeking admission.
-Do nursing care during an emergency such as ACLS, CPR and other emergency
treatments.
-Conduction or transfer of patient to other hospital or institution.
-Assisting the physicians at all times with competency in the examination to be done
to the patient, anticipate of the needs with proper documentation.
-Inform and collaborate with other departments in handling different cases (direct
Operating Room/Labor Room/Delivery Room and other medical/surgical cases)
for immediate health service and emergent needs
-Dependent and Independent nursing interventions and health teachings to the
patients.
-Coordinates services with other providers/departments especially when there is
mass casualty. Inform head/supervisor and supports hospital and management
philosophy and decisions by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
-Monitors procurement of supplies, maintains proper inventory control, maintains
equipment, and monitors the accuracy of patient charges as appropriate to services.
