1. Study the various designer labels, last year’s hit styles for coming up
with ideas for the new season.
2. Every design should be very feminine and emotional.
3. Concept boards are received by the design team of NY..
4. Inspiration boards are also received by the design team of NY.
5. Sketch boards are also sometimes received by the design team of NY.

TITLE: fabric sourcing and range development

PURPOSE: The SOP is to define steps to be followed when the range is
developed and fabric is sourced
SCOPE: The scope of the process is limited to the design team.

PROCEDURES:
1. Fabric samples, swatches are received by the design team of NY.
2. Fabric boards are received by the design team of NY.
3. Study the fabrics and find the right sourcing mill for the fabric.
4. Fabrics are mainly sourced from china and Korea.
5. Send the fabric images and the required specifications to the mill and
ask for samples.
6. Make fabric PPT’s to be sent to the design team in NY and systematically
present the fabrics.
7. Make sketches for the accepted fabrics for range development.
8. Coordinate with the operation team for the testing of the fabrics and call
out on the fabrics.
9. Sit with the factories and get the designs developed personally. These are
developed as a part of the range to be presented to the buyer in NY.
