Section Four: Alignment to Curriculum & Professional Standards
Introduction
As an educator, you have a responsibility to be an accountable professional who provides
an environment full of trust and integrity. This section demonstrates my ability to align subject
matter to curriculum standards in a clear and concise manner.
Curriculum & Professional Educational Standards
INTASC Standards.
The Interstate New Teacher Assessment Support Consortium Standards
(INTASC) provides new teachers with support for continued professional development. It
addresses the core beliefs that teaching begins with the child, and effective teaching is meeting
the needs of each children. This occurs by creating a developmentally appropriate, challenging
classroom with meaningful content which focuses on mastery. Educators are skillful with
effective instructional and assessments allowing students to understand how to be successful. All
learners are supported both inside and outside the classroom through the creation of family and
community connections to drive student success. Additionally, each child can visualize
themselves in their success with the diversified subject matter. Lastly, the INTASC addresses the
importance of continued professional development, strong collaborative skills and continued
personal and professional growth.
