This method statement describing the outline procedure to be followed for china mosaic
to be executed at Maruti Hospital, Sitapur.

2. Scope of Work:
China mosaic work on terrace.

3. Reference and Standard:


This document should be read in conjunction with technical specification and approved
drawing for execution of work at site.
4. Work Programme:
The China mosaic work shall be carried out in accordance as per proposal.

6. Methodology:
 The roughened top coat of brickbat coba is cleaned & washed properly.
 Cement mortar made from the cement & fine sand in proportion of 1:4 is spread
uniformly on the surface with a thickness of 200mm to 25mm uniformly.
 This bed is checked for levels & slopes.
 Design pattern, if any, marked over this bed with use of cotton line string.
 Cement –Water mixed slurry is spread on the work area. Pieces of china mosaic are
then pressed and fitted in position. The joints between these two pieces should be
3mm to 5mm.
 After laying of the china mosaic pieces, they are hammered with wooden mallet to
achieve a uniform surface. The surface will be cured for three days.
 White cement past will be applied in gap between to tiles.
7. Health and Safety:
1. All the workers shall wear proper personal protective equipment(PPE).
2. All the workers & staff personals shall be trained well in works to be executed
especially at height & precautionary & corrective measures to be taken for the
