Oxydur VE-AR is a chemically and thermally resistant top coat for vinyl ester resin systems that provides outstanding wear resistance. It can be used as a top layer for highly abrasive areas. The product has good chemical and mechanical resistance and withstands temperatures up to 140°C. It is applied in a single 1mm thick layer and has a working time of approximately 20 minutes at 25°C after mixing the powder, hardener, accelerator, and solution components according to the specified ratios.

Description
The system is well-curing, even under unfavorable conditions. It is a chemically and thermally highly resistant top coat for
vinyl ester resin-based Oxydur- or Steulerflake systems. It has an outstanding wear resistance.

Use
Use as a top layer in highly abrasive areas of REA absorbers or other components of various industries.

Substrate
Vinyl ester resin based Oxydur and Steulerflake-systems. The surface to be coated has to be dry, free of separating sub-
stances and impurities.
Please contact our application engineering for approval of the project-specific possible application.

Moisture
During application, the substrate must be kept absolutely dry. Uncured material has to be protected from any kind of
moisture (condensation, fog, precipitation or other water source). Distance to dew point has to be at least 3 K, at a relat-
ive humidity of above 70 % at least 5 K.

Packaging / Shelf life


The products shall be stored and transported in a cool and dry place. Shelf life is specified for a storage temperature of
20 °C. Higher temperatures reduce, lower temperatures increase the shelf life.

Working Times
The working times depend on the temperature and are as follows:
10 °C approx. 75 minutes
20 °C approx. 35 minutes
25 °C approx. 20 minutes

Safety measures
Mix and apply material only in well ventilated areas. Provide ventilation suited to the conditions when working in pits or
tanks. Do not smoke!
Do not expose materials to heat or open flame. This applies in particular to welding works (weld beads). Avoid direct con-
tact of the material with the skin. Wash hands with soap and water; do not clean the skin with solvents. Use barrier soap
and protective creams on exposed skin areas. In all other respects comply with the relevant regulations for prevention of
accidents.
