Profile
An experienced panel beater with extensive knowledge in all aspects of the motor trade with the
following skills: body shop management, team leadership (working within budget limitations), bonus
structures, vehicle inspection, personnel selection, safety requirements, customer care and stock
control. Followed more recently with training and implementation of the following estimating systems:
Glassmatix, Audatex, BodyMaster and Motex. I am a competent estimator who deals regularly with
engineers who represent all major insurance companies.

Insurance Engineer
My current role is working for a leading insurance company as a motor insurance engineer. My role is
office based and very much different to all other jobs I have done. In my role as a motor insurance
engineer I am responsible for a panel of approved repairers which I have to manage and audit to
guidelines set out for me by my employer. I also have to agree repair methods and costs with my
repairers as well as agreeing final accounts. Other duties I have in this role are agreeing third party
costs and agreeing total loss settlements.
My role within this company relies very heavily on my experience within the motor trade and my
knowledge of cars. During my time at this company I have also been appointed as a team leader for
one of the companies other team of engineers, this role was to be a cover manager for two weeks in
the Portsmouth office until a new manager could be found on a permanent basis.
June 2001- May2002 Nationwide Crash Repair Centres
Estimator / Bodyshop Manager
Nationwide Crash Repair Centres are one of the biggest networks of repairers in the UK. My role within
this company was mainly that of a Bodyshop Manager for their Kidderminster branch.
My role in this branch was mainly work shop based with approximately three to four hours of admin
work a day. The admin work involved was mainly calculating bonuses and dealing with the e.p.a
regulations, servicing schedules for equipment and dealing with quality control paper work to ensure
high standards. There, of course were many other duties which I had to do most of which are general
day to day managers duties that I had been used to doing in my previous employment.
June 1999 – June 2001 RST Bodyshops
Estimator / Body shop Manager
RST is a family run accident repair centre that undertakes all repairs on vehicles. My role as Estimator /
Bodyshop Manager was to ensure the effective booking in / out of vehicles together with the
compilation of estimates ready for loading into the workshop. Aspects of my role included:
Booking in / out of vehicles
Arranging courtesy cars
Instructing parts department of required parts
Liasing with customers at all levels
Organising members of staff within the company
Setting up of new contracts and agreements
Dealing with insurance companies and insurance engineers
Dealing with company finances and payments
Restructuring of work procedures and maximising on work potential

Panel Beater
Quicks are part of a major dealership across the UK. My role within the company was mainly that of a
panel beater. During my time there I was asked to assist the bodyshop manager taking the role of
workshop foreman, deputising for the workshop manager in his absence. Aspects of my role included:
Organising the loading of the workshop
Liasing with customers
Calculation of hours for job cards for bonus purposes etc
Upgrade of panel beating equipment

A Wilcox is a family run business with a large turnover of units per week. My role there was that of a
panel beater.
