Flood Control

The Sangguniang Barangay of Macaoayan, Burgos, Ilocos Sur held a regular session on October 16, 2021 to discuss rehabilitation of a flood control project. Barangay Macaoayan is located along a river and is affected by flooding during heavy rains. A flood control project was constructed in 2020 but parts were damaged by recent storms, causing flooding. Agricultural lands and a post-harvest facility were affected. As the barangay lacks sufficient funds, the Sangguniang passed a resolution requesting funding from the Municipal Mayor for rehabilitation of the flood control project along the riverside.

RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOOD AND GENEROUS OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR OF BURGOS,
ILOCOS, HONORABLE NATHANIEL D. ESCOBAR TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF FLOOD
CONTROL PROJECT ALONG RIVERSIDE OF BARANGAY MACAOAYAN, BURGOS, ILOCOS SUR.

WHEREAS, Barangay Macaoayan is located along riverside of Burgos, Ilocos Sur and easily and directly
affected by flood during heavy rains and typhoons which may cause damage of property and even human life;

WHEREAS, a flood control project was constructed on year 2020;

WHEREAS, during heavy rains caused by Habagat and Typhoon Maring, some part of the said flood
control was damaged which causes flood on low lying areas of the barangay;

WHEREAS, agricultural lands and newly constructed Post Harvest Facility was severely affected;

WHEREAS, due to insufficient barangay funds, Rehabilitation of Flood Control Project along riverside of
Barangay Macaoayan, Burgos, Ilocos Sur must be prioritized;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion made and duly seconded, BE IT

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to submit copy of RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOOD


AND GENEROUS OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR OF BURGOS, ILOCOS, HONORABLE NATHANIEL D.
ESCOBAR TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT ALONG RIVERSIDE
OF BARANGAY MACAOAYAN, BURGOS, ILOCOS SUR.
