IV. PROCEDURE
I. Introduction Begin the class with a prayer and greetings.
Provide also some rules for conducting online
learning such as avoiding opening the microphone if
it is not necessary, giving signal to students to give
opportunity to answer or ask questions and so on.

1. If you want to greet the teacher and classmate,

2. Keep the microphone muted.
3. Sit up straight, listen to what is being said by the
teacher and just look at the lesson it shows. 4. Avoid
playing, talking to others.
5. Speak only if the teacher calls the name.
6. Raise your hand if you have something to say.

A. Presenting the new lesson

Kids, before we start our lesson we will have


first a challenge. The challenge is called “ EMOJI
CHALLENGE”
I will show you an emoji and what are you
going to do is to mimic the facial expressions being
emphasized in each emoji that I will be going to
show you.

Are you happy? What makes you happy?

B. Establishing purpose for the lesson


I have here different pictures. I want you to look
closely at them Notice the actions that are shown in
every picture. Let us take a look at these two pictures
first (show two pictures which show a happy and glad kid.
The first two pictures emphasize synonyms.)

Class, in these two pictures, the first one is glad


and the other one is happy. Can we say that they are just
the same?

Now, let us take a look at the two next pictures.


(The first picture shows a bad boy throwing garbage on
the floor while the second picture shows a good boy
throwing trash in a bin. The pictures will try to
emphasize antonyms)
What do you notice on these two pictures? Do
they show similar actions?

That’s right! The two pictures show different


attitudes of kids.

Which picture shows the right habit in disposing


garbage?

So, we should always practice throwing garbage


to the trash bin so that we can maintain the cleanliness
of our surroundings and in that way we can also save the
earth from being destroyed/ polluted

Let us analyze the two sets of pictures.

The first set of words shows or presents


similarities in meaning. They have similar or nearly same
meanings. They are called Synonyms

Synonyms are words that have the same meaning


with the other words
. Example;

Pretty- ugly
Cold- hot

The second set of word presents words that


show differences or opposite in meanings. These are
known as antonyms.
Antonyms refer to exact opposite of another word
meaning. It has exact opposite meaning with the
other word Example;

I will group you into two. The first group will be the
boys and the nest group will be the girls.

Group of boys will determine/ write the words that


are synonyms in each item. And The group of girls
will also write the words that are opposites.
