Subject: Constitution of Barangay Peace and Order Committee


(BPOC) of Barangay Benteng-Sapilang, Rosario, La Union

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 309,s. of 1987, amended, the Barangay Peace and Order Committee ( BPOC) of
Barangay Benteng-Sapilang, Rosario, La Union. Is hereby constituted as follows:

Section 1. Composition- The Barangay Peace and Order Committee ( BPOC) shall be composed of the following:

The Punong Barangay may appoint Sectoral Representative/s to committee as may be necessary or depending
upon the needs and situation in Barangay.

Section 2. Functions –The functions of BPOC shall be as follows:

1. Formulate the Barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan which shall be incorporated in the
Barangay Development Plan, and recommend measures to improve measures to improve or enhance
the implementation of peace and order program in the community;
2. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at barangay
level, including anti-illegal gambling activities;
3. Serve as an information-gathering mechanism;
4. Establish and maintain profile of all residents in the barangay;
5. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements;
6. Identify barangay constituents who have strong deviant behavior for referral to appropriate
authorities;
7. Maintain, coordinate and supervise dialogue, close coordination and support with the higher POCand
law enforcement units;
8. Monitor , coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti-crime movements
within the barangay;
9. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in the barangay, and submit a
report, on illegal gambling, with appropriate recommendations to higher –level POC and:
10. Perform such other functions which may be assigned by the higher-level POC

Section 3. The BPOC Secretariat –The BPOC is likewise is constituted as follows:

1. RODEL BALANON ,Barangay Administrator


2. RODOLFO E. OMANITO JR. ,Barangay Secretary
3. All staff of the Office of Punong Barangay

Sector 4. Function of the BPOC Secretariat – The BPOC Secretariat shall perform the following functions and
responsibilities:

1. Handle the administrative, operational and technical activities of the BPO


2. Prepare plans and programs for the consideration of the committee;
3. Supervise ,direct and monitor, for the committee, implementation of approved policies, plans and
programs;
4. Undertake liasoning and coordination activities with appropriate agencies of government; and
5. Provide a forum for inter-disciplinary dialogue and deliberation of major issues and problems
affecting the peace and order;

Section 5. Effectivity – This Order shall take effect immediately.
