ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to understand the concept importance of early
intervention to children with special educational needs and their families. Student will also
understand the unique aspect early intervention service delivery and intervention.
Task 1: Early Invention Programme Information Kit (40 marks)
Imagine you are the program coordinator of an Early Intervention Program (IEP) in your
area. Nominate a specific disability which the program works with and compile a customized
information kit about the program for new parents and teachers at your program. This kit
should include essential information and tools to successful early intervention services.
In the information kit, you are required to include the following information:
Background information on IEP
Information on early intervention
Information on the disability
Information on assessment, goals, intervention method and documentation
Information on parental involvement or parents support groups
Information on additional relevant therapies
Example of reliable online sources, relevant books, videos or film
Task 2: Power Point Slides and Presentation (20 marks)
Based on the information kit you have created, pprepare PowerPoint slides and present
your information kit. You will need to record your presentation, upload it to You Tube, and
copy paste your You Tube link in your assignment. Your presentation marks will be given
based on the given assessment rubric.
Number of slides: 10 to 12 slides
Duration of presentation: 10 -15 minutes
