SurTec® 941

Membrane Cleaner
for Micro- and Ultrafiltration Membranes

Properties
 powder
 alkaline
 free of silicates
 free of complexing agents
 suited for all types of membranes
 free of EDTA and NTA

Application
SurTec 941 is used for rinsing and pore clearing of micro- and ultrafiltration membranes
in case of decreasing efficiency of the membranes.
make-up value: 1% (0.5-3 %)
temperature: room temperature up to 90°C
application time: according to requirements

Maintenance and Analysis


Analyse and adjust the concentration of SurTec 941 regularly.

Sample Preparation
Take a sample at a homogeneously mixed position. Let it cool down to room temperature.
If the sample is turbid, let the turbidity settle down and decant or filter the solution.

SurTec 941 – Analysis by Titration


reagents: 1 N hydrochloric or sulfuric acid
indicator: methyl orange solution (0.04 %)
procedure: 1. Pipette 50 ml bath sample into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
2. Dilute to approx. 100 ml with deionised water.
3. Add 3 drops of indicator.
4. Titrate with 1 N acid from yellow to red.
calculation: consumption in ml · 0.21 = % SurTec 941

Stock Keeping
In order to prevent delays in the production process, per 1,000 l bath the following
amount should be kept in stock:
