Front dual house and hook roller assemblies are mounted In
asingle frame which 's bolt-connected to a machined surlace
on underside of rotating bed allowing support trame to equal-
ize roller loads. Rear hook roller assembly consists of 7 hook
rollers mounted in a curved beam, Rollers are equally spaced
and individually adjustable. Hook roller loads are equalized
by beam deflection. Beam is mounted on slide bars for easy
decking and undecking of rotating bed
‘SWING MACHINERY: Independent swing consists of two
motors (either standard hydraulic or options! electric drive)
Sach powering a swing pinion through two gear reductions.
‘Swing systems are mounted in rotating bed on opposite sides
Of the ning gear. Power is available for swing acceleration in
bithar airection and deceleration to siowor stop swing motion.
Free swing exists when control lever is in neutral position,
Front CountershattINDEPENDENT BOOM HOIST: Qual drums. heat treated
alloy stee\ drum shatt driven by bronze worm wheel and
worm gear through planetary gear reduction. Gears fully
enclosed and run in al. Al rotating shafts antifriction bearing

BOOM HOIST DRIVE: Powered through a variable displace-
‘ment hyuraulic pump driven by the upperworks power plant.
DRUM DRIVE: Provided by two controlled toraue converters.
Dragconverter powers dragdrum throughaninitial gear redue-
tion toa chain drive to the rear countershatt and a gear dnve
from the countersnaft to the crum, The hoist! converter
powers the holst drum through a chain drive to the front
‘countershatt and a gear drive from the countershaft to the
‘drum. The dual independent torque converters split engine
ower to the hoist and drag drums. Converter ouiputs are
chain connected which allows full power to de Supplied to
‘ther drum by disengaging the other drum clutch. Drag aiid
hoist drums are connected through a sulective interlock
chain on the 1wo Countershafts which when engaged by en
Internal expanding dand-type elutch on ane of the interlock
sprockets synchronizes drum rotation allowing drag rope pay-

function. thereby reducing the power reauired to hoist.
POWER TRANSMISSION. VICON*: The VICON (Variable
Independent CONtTo! Patented) system provides stepless
‘anebie bower transmission for major machine Tunctions.
Engine powers vided at ihe transmission case to twin con

todrum shafts. Steel drums are 62 inches wide, 50 inches in
diameter and grooved. Drums have bolted, cast iron. 86 inch
diameter brake flanges. Dual air controlled, external con:
tracting bande-type drum brakes are located on the front and
fear drums. Air controlled, internal expanding band-type
