                                 INTRODUCTION
What better time would be available than now to discuss the seed principle than
now? Isn’t it amazing how the former and latter rain falls but does not find any
seed buried in the soil for our harvest?
Here’s how Myles Munroe puts it, ‘In every seed lies a forest’. Think of it this way;
imagine that no one buried the first seed for the yam, beans, cashew, food and cash
crops that you eat today. How do we multiply what is available to get to produce
more?
Adam, the first man was handed the job of cultivating and tending the garden. (Gen.
2:15) Consider it carefully, what was he to do by cultivating the garden?
Simply, he was to manage the seeds that have been buried (bearing other potential
seeds needed for multiplication).
This is to say that it is a fact that the seed is the established mechanism for
multiplication? The claim that you ‘you sow what you reap’ has two ends when
considered in perspective. On one hand, it is true; on the other, it isn’t.
Here’s it- To ‘you reap what you sow’ is true in that you don’t harvest a different
species of what you harvest. This is why you don’t plant maize and expect to harvest
orange, you’d be a thief that way and just as Gal. 4:6 puts it, you are trying to mock
God (which isn’t possible). Here’s the other end to the ‘you reap what you sow’

statement; when you sow a seed, you don’t get the same 3,4,5 grains you plant (sow
into the ground), what you get is a multiplied version of what you buried.
Life in its entirety runs on the seed principle; in fact, your birth is a product of the
seed sown by another grown seed.
‘Seeding engenders continued existence of life’. You’ll soon find out ‘how’ as you
journey through the pages of this book.

                                CHAPTER 1
                              WHAT’S THE SEED?
‘In every seed is a forest’ -Myles Munroe
I have defined the seed this way, ‘the seemingly insignificant part of your now that
is capable of producing the significant of the future’. Why have I said this?
Nobody really fancies the seed when it is in the hand of the farmer, yet to be sown.
Compare the former with the joy, sometimes envy that fills the eyes of those that see
the eventual produce of the seed sown.
The seed is that your insignificant savings you think does not matter in building the
multimillionaire business you planned to build in 2021 up till now, the seed is that
basic graphic design skill that you have despised and failed to build upon because
you think you don’t have all it takes yet, the seed is that act of kindness that would
be communicated if you can sacrifice that morsel of bread for your hungry
neighbour.
The seed is the insignificant that you need to birth the significant; you must
understand and put this at the back of your mind if you will ever remain productive
in life.

                                                             THE SEED PRINCIPLE
I reached out to a dear one who I had assisted in writing a proposal, wanting to know
the state of its approval. She lamented about how nothing serious was forthcoming
and she was almost giving up since it, in her words, doesn’t hold so much profit for
her in the long run.
Here’s the point, it is not about the proportion of the profit/turnover but the fact that
in the approval of that business contract lies another business contract. That’s why I
advise business people to always place quality at the top of their value proposition
when they are offer their goods or service to their clients. This is the idea, that client
is a seed to another client or even clients.
In the words of the charismatic preacher, Myles Munroe, ‘In every seed lies a forest’.
This is why an understanding of what the seed represents is important as it helps you
to take care of the seed properly. Seed is everything!

                                  CHAPTER 2
                                 WHY SOW SEEDS?
‘While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and
Summer, And day and night, Shall not cease’ (Gen. 8:22)
I noted the above to first let you know that there are two strategic seasons, the seed
time and the harvest time. The former foreruns the latter, no doubt. See the two
seasons as a laid down template for multiplication.
Many times, we are frustrated because of the way at which what is in our hands is
stagnated and probably rotting away. We forget quickly that, seeds are not meant to
be in our hands, they are meant to be buried. I said that to say this, whether you sow
seeds or not, scriptures say, seed time and harvest will not cease.
I will tell you what I have eventually found out, your state at harvest is still a function
of your seed.
We don’t need to see your seed when you are trying to plan, your harvest will tell
us. Even when you don’t sow a seed at seed time, the seed of ‘not sowing a seed’
will still bring you a harvest, but a regrettable one. It’s painful but that’s the hard
truth.

                                                          THE SEED PRINCIPLE
So, here’s the simple reason why you must sow seeds- because you want to take
responsibility. Leave God to bless the seed, it is not his duty to sow the seeds for
you. You do the sowing (responsibility), God does the multiplication.
You want to build that multinational business you have envisioned, start sowing the
seed of quality investment into relevant materials, conferences, meetings with people
who have gotten your kind of result. That’s the sort of thing I am talking about here.

                                                           THE SEED PRINCIPLE
                                   CHAPTER 3
                                  TIMELY SEEDING
‘There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight
and event or purpose under heaven.’ (Ecclesiastes 3:1 (AMP))
I have adopted the term ‘seeding’ here to refer to the action of sowing your seeds.
There’s time to everything under the face of the earth, time to plant, harvest; sleep,
wake; work, play.
Like I previously mentioned, life runs by principles; you don’t violate a principle
and intend to benefit from the same, that’s unjust.
This is why you’ll hear people exclaim, ‘life is not balanced’ (‘life no balance’).
Yes, that’s true. The only issue here is whether life wouldn’t have a claim against
you. People who talk that way are those who have refused to take
RESPONSIBILITY for their lives. Such people are envious and embittered people.
Why? There’s a way that the rewarding that life gives at harvest overwhelms and
intimidates the man who refuses to sow. Don’t forget, ‘you get what you sow’
There’s something about being timely in your seeding. The degree to which the seeds
you bury yield is not a function of who you are BUT because you decided to sow
them at the appropriate them.

                                                           THE SEED PRINCIPLE
Consider this, some seeds would still produce yields even if they are planted at the
wrong time but they are at best, wasted seeds. Your seeds yield maximally because
you paid attention to the discerning of the times. Farmers go as far as making heaps
of ridges in preparation for the next season for a crop; think about why they have to
do that.
Seeds don’t just produce at your will, why’s that so? It is for life to be balanced, so
that someone doesn’t come by and say, ‘this man’s seed produced 100% while mine
yielded 70%’. In other words, you can trace the quality, quantity of your harvest to
the time you sowed it.
Always remember this, the difference between the rich and the poor is not in what
they own but the way they way see and respond to situations. Rich people understand
timely seeding while the poor regard their seed as insignificant and refuse to plant.

                                                           THE SEED PRINCIPLE
                                 CHAPTER 4
                  NURTURING YOUR SEED TO MATURITY
It is astonishing to discover so far that the seed a powerful in the hands of those
that KNOW it. Yes, you have to know it. To ‘know’ here is to come to a sort of
revealed understanding of the potentials in the seed that you have in your hands.
After you have KNOWN your seed, of course, you sow it and the you continue to
nurturing the seed until harvest- such a joy that comes with harvest! The end of
that which is KNOWN is the result(s) that follow. It then follows thus, that I can
how much you KNOW your seed by the level of result that your seed produces.
It is important to note again that what keeps you faithful in all of these processes
that makes the seed yield harvest is KNOWING the seed.
Let’s look into what it means to nurture your seed and how to go about it.
The word ‘nurture’ in the Greek rendition means to ‘care for, cultivate, grow,
nourish, till, nurse’
All these terms in their outlook suggest an affection towards something or
someone, much more is the fact that this affection requires actions.
Show me you love your seed by the way you dote (love) it

                                                            THE SEED PRINCIPLE
If you love your seed, you will nurture.
How then do you nurture your seed to maturity? I outlined some few steps to guide
on that:
    • Pray over your seed: With prayers, you wet your seed with the former and
        latter rain. (Joel 2:23)
    • Commit to concentrated personal development on the path of your seed:
Whatever you don’t have is simply a report card that you have not grown to
the level where that measure of result is gotten. Hence, till then, never stop
        learning -Keep growing.
    • Weed away thoughts, imaginations, relationships that can choke your
seed: Why nurture your seed where it will be choked? Harmful
relationships, influences, thoughts that will short-live the life-span of your
seed should be done away with.
    • Fertilize your seed: There are times when nutrients (passion) seem to be off
your radar. This is why you have to be committed to embracing all that
makes for the heightened growth of your seed.
    • Be patient with your seed: Life is in phases and as matter of fact, if will
cannot what you call ‘harvest’ to a season of planting, then there’s a fraud

                                                           THE SEED PRINCIPLE
somewhere. Never wish to jump the process, be ready to go through it, not
forgetting that your ‘going through’ is not your ‘going to’.

                                                            THE SEED PRINCIPLE
                                  CHAPTER 5
                                      SO WHAT?
‘They who sow in in tears shall reap with joyful singing’ (Psalms 126:5 (MSG))
You’ve got to start thinking of how to seed towards a productive 2022. The farmer
doesn’t go around to get the seed when the season for the germination of the seed is
at hand. He does so ‘pre-season’.
There’s a seed in your hand, for some other person, it is in you.
Your seed is for you but the harvest is for ‘the world of MEN’
So, you try to despise your seed? Then, you will watch it waste away right before
your eyes.
I wouldn’t want you to watch in envy when harvest 2022 comes by; rid of yourself
of the agony that comes with that feeling. Get it straight now.
Stop thinking of the seed as being insignificant, start seeing the forest in that seed.
Put this at the back of your mind, whether you sow or not, some people are waiting
for your harvest because that’s where they are meant to feed from. Whether you sow
or not, the responsibility still lies on you.
‘For he that considers the wind shall not sow’
16 | P a g e
                                                         THE SEED PRINCIPLE
What skillset(s) do you need to go get now?
Which do you need to sharpen?
Which book do you need to read to wet your seed?
What relationship would you need to build as you sow your seed?
What discipline do you need to enforce on yourself towards making your seed count?
What value systems do you need to build to keep your seed vital?
Trust me, there’s an overflowing joy that comes with the harvest, but it doesn’t come
by without the story of the tears that seeding brings. Make 2022 count from NOW
and you’ll be glad you did.
