Annotation…

The Department of Education (DepEd) will kick off the implementation of


the National Learning Camp (NLC). The program shall be encouraged students in
Grade 7 and 8 to cater their learnings into advance that will provide greater depth,
breadth, and complexity of learning area competencies. It aims to deepen
students’ knowledge, expand their skills and foster a more comprehensive
understanding of the subjects.

The said program divided it into 3 forms of camp- enhancement,


consolidation or intervention. The consolidation camp, meanwhile, is “designed to
provide further practice on and application of previously taught competencies.”
Participants will be provided with opportunities to identify links connecting
concepts and skills across grade-level competencies. The intervention camp will
support students who are yet to grasp foundational Mathematics and English
skills. Students will receive targeted interventions to help improve their skills and
bridge any gaps in their understanding.

The phased implementation of the NLC will begin this school break for
English, Science and Mathematics.
