1) Tape Drum Friction Brake:
Shown in Fig, the tape drum fition brake on each tapping hea is pre-set
for normal operation to prevent tape tll ravel. Should tension adjustment be
requied, tum the kmaried nut onthe shaft to vay compression ofthe spring:
‘Tur knurled nut clocowise o increas te braking fore, and
counterclockwise to decrease the braking force, Adjust to minimum tension
that prevents excessive tape rollover travel.

2) The Applying Mechanism Spring:
Shown in Fig 5-2 (ARB), contols spplying and buffing roller pressure onthe
box and retums the mechanism to the reset position.
“The spring pressure seting is for norm operation but i adjusteble, es shown
in Fig $-2A. Removing the spring end loop frm the spring holder and placing
Joop in other holes provided, as show inFig5-2B, will adjust the spring
presse, The spring pressure should be sett the minimum possible while
maintaining good tape application.

3) Box Drive Belts:
‘The belt tension too tight results in the overload of motor. In this case, the
‘motor will be damaged easily. On contrast, the motor will antilock with the
toosen belt tension. Take off the guard while adjusting the belt tension by
tuming the screw.E. Maintenance
“Turi off the electrical power supply and disconnect power cord froin electrical supply,
before beginning maintenance. If electrical power is not disconnected, severe injury 10
personnel could result. Use care when replacing blades, as blade are extremely share, If
