                               GENERAL
This supplement is effective for Eclipse Aircraft equipped with Innovative
Solutions & Support (IS&S) Flat Panel Display System (FPDS) with IFMS
2.08.
Detailed operating instructions and technical information for the FPDS can
be obtained in:
     • Revision 10 of the IS&S “PILOT’S GUIDE SUPPLEMENT –
AVIO IFMS ECLIPSE 500 FPDS (1D-08399 Rev 10)”
          manual.
     • Revision 4 of the IS&S “PILOT’S GUIDE SUPPLEMENT –
EFB ECLIPSE 500 FPDS (1D-08308 Rev 4)” manual.
     • Revision 13 of the IS&S “OPERATION AND INSTALLATION
MANUAL, FLAT PANEL DISPLAY SYSTEM (1D-07048 Rev
          13)” manual.
This AFM Supplement has precedence if any conflicts arise between the
Pilot’s Guide Supplement and this AFM Supplement.
IFMS 2.08 ENHANCEMENTS
The enhancements and capabilities of the IFMS 2.08 installation include:
    • Ability to arm Approach Mode (FMS APPR) when the aircraft is in
the terminal area (within 30NM) of the destination airport by simply
         pressing APPR on the ACP.
    • Fuel quantity gauge displays a yellow caution band from 1 to 280
lbs, and a single red line at zero.
    • The Heading Bug is “filled in” to indicate the autopilot or flight
director is in Heading mode or Vectors to Final mode.
    • The word "Stormscope®" is replaced by "Lightning Detector" in the
         MFD System Tests Page.

                             LIMITATIONS
Operational Limitations
    • A copy of this Flight Manual Supplement must be available for
immediate access by the flight crew when operating the FPDS.
    • Operators with Electronic JeppesenTM Charts must have
appropriate back-up charts (electronic or paper) immediately
        available to the flight crew.
    • Primary navigation of the aircraft should not be performed using
the map or charts on the MFD.
    • E-Charts database currency must be verified prior to use.
    • Navigation database currency must be verified prior to use.
    • While operating under LNAV/VNAV-B level of service, published
restrictions specified for “Uncompensated Baro-VNAV systems”
        must be followed.
    • The operator of the aircraft is required to check RAIM availability.
                                      NOTE
In the event of a predicted continuous loss of RAIM of
more than five minutes for any part of the intended
route of flight, the flight should be delayed, canceled,
or re- routed on a track where RAIM requirements can
             be met.
    • Graphical satellite weather must not be used for tactical decisions
        in avoidance of severe weather.

                 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
AUTOFLIGHT SYSTEM (AFS)
Modes of Operation
FMS APPR Mode
APPR Mode must be activated for the autopilot to fly the vertical component
of an LPV or LNAV/VNAV approach.
Approach Armed:
The pilot can arm FMS APPR when the aircraft is in the terminal area (within
30 NM) of the destination airport by pressing APPR on the ACP. APPR
mode is only selectable when the approach is designated as “LPV” or
“LNAV/VNAV” and the lateral & vertical deviation information are valid.
When FMS APPR Mode is armed, the FMA will indicate:
    • FMS APPR for the lateral mode
    • GP (Glide Path) for LPV or VPATH (Vertical Path) for LNAV/VNAV
          in vertical mode
FMA Lateral Mode FMA Vertical Mode
       FMS FMS APPR ALT GP
If Altitude Hold is armed (PITCH or ALT CHG active), the FMA will indicate
GP/ALT or VP/ALT as the armed vertical mode.
FMA Vertical Mode FMA Vertical Mode
(PITCH active & altitude armed) (Altitude captured & GP or VP armed)
     PITCH GP/ALT ALT GP
         OR
     PITCH GP/ALT ALT VP

Lateral Active (Capture):
For the lateral mode to transition from an Armed FMS APPR to an Active
FMS APPR, the following conditions must be met:
  • FMS has transitioned to the APPROACH Phase of Flight
  • LPV or LNAV/VNAV is annunciated as the Level of Service
  • The active leg terminates at the Final Approach Fix
  • Difference between the current track and the final approach course is
       5° or less
When the aircraft track is within 5° of the final approach course, the FPDS
will:
   • synchronize the selected heading
   • go into heading mode momentarily before transitioning into FMS
APPR without any action from the pilot
Lateral Mode active and the Vertical mode still armed:
FMA Lateral Mode FMA Vertical Mode
     FMS APPR ALT GP

FUEL SYSTEM
FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL AND INDICATION
Fuel Quantity Gauging System
In the upper tile of the MFD and in the PFD composite
mode, the fuel quantity indicator display:
   • amber band from 1 to 280 lbs (as opposed to
        211 to 280 lbs)
   • single red line at 0 lbs (as opposed to a red
        band from 0 to 210).
PFD HSI HEADING BUG
The Heading Bug is “filled in” to indicate the autopilot or flight director is in
Heading or Vectors to Final mode.

LOW ALTITUDE
The aircraft altitude is lower than the minimum altitudes specified for this
approach.
STEEP TURN AHEAD
The FMS cannot navigate along the planned flight path because of the
required bank angle would exceed 30 degrees.
LPV/LP NOT AVAILABLE – USE XXX MINIMUMS
The GPS is unable to achieve the required integrity of the aircraft position
for the selected approach, causing the FMS to down-grade the approach
(to higher minima).
APPR NOT APPROVED FOR GPS
The government agency has not authorized the overlay of a conventional
ground based approach to be flown with the GPS and/or FMS.
