GATHERING SAFETY EQUIPMENT
The following safety equipment you
will need is:
-Safety Gloves
-Eye protection
-Hearing Protection
                      PRESENTATION TITLE 2
USING THE METAL SHEAR
Next you will ask the teacher for a sheet
of metal which you will be cutting on
the metal shear, you will cut four
identical cubes being 3.5 inch by
3.5inch. To do this you will first make
sure that the back fence of the shear is
set to the right distance and then
inserting your metal pushed up against
the back and right shoulder fence. Doing
all this will make sure all your pieces are
nice and equal. Next you will keep your
fingers on the metal so it's nice and
secured but away from the blade, after
this you will apply pressure onto the
foot pedal and make the cut. As you are
doing this you should be wearing safety
gloves.
                              PRESENTATION TITLE 3
ENGRAVING AND MARKING
Now that you have your pieces of metal you
will want to mark it as your own, you will do this by
putting your name on it, doing this will let you know
which is yours and prevent others from mistakenly
taking it. To do this you will use the engraver, with
this tool you will be able to label your name on each
piece of metal. As you do this you should wear
hearing protection.
CUTTING CIRCLES
When your done with your marking you
will want to get tin snips and cut
around, you're tracing and making sure
that you are cutting it in a circle. As well
make sure to take your time
                                               PRESENTATION TITLE 5
FILING YOUR PEDALS Now that you have cut out your pedals you will want to fill
them to make the sharp points go away which will also help
make it look better. When your filling make sure to fill at a 45
angle and to be wearing the safety equipment including
gloves, safety glasses, and a clamp to help hold your project
                     steady.
                                                                              6
FINDING THE CENTER POINT
Once you have rounded the pedals you will next
want to find your center point, to do this you will
need a ruler, pencil, and a table. Frist you will put
your piece against the corner of the table, next put
your ruler aligning it with the corner line which will
have u set to draw your first line. After you have
done all that you will do it again from the other
side which would make a 'X' with the center being
your center point.
                                                         7
                               CENTER PUNCHING THE PEDAL
After finding your center
point you will now go over
and grab a center punch
along with a hammer and
take it over to the metal
holders. After this you will
place the center punch in
the middle which you
already found and hammer
it do center punch your
piece.

                           MARKING AND CUTTING
Now that you have center
punched all your pedals
you will make eight
different lines running
slightly off the center.
You will need eye
protection and safety
gloves while doing this
task.
                                  PRESENTATION TITLE 9
                                     DRILLING
After you finished cutting all
the pieces you will now go grab
the drill from the closet with a
1/8 drill bit and a clamp. As
you are drilling it's important to
note that you be applying slight
pressure over the drill making it
cut through the metal sheet
with ease.
                                      PRESENTATION TITLE 10
                                        CURVING THE PEDALS
After you have finished drilling you
will go back to the same closet
you gotten the drill at but this time
in the left door where you will be
able to acquire a ball tip hammer
and a bowl. You will put the metal
at the edge of the bowl and with
the ball tip hammer hit it making
it have a curve. Make sure to be
wearing safety glasses, safety
gloves and hearing protection
before attending this task.
                                              PRESENTATION TITLE 11
Now that we have accomplished all
this work it's time to add real life
detailing to this project giving it
the realistic look. To complete this
task, you will first need the
                        following safety equipment such as
                        gloves, safety glasses, and hearing
                        protection. Now to add these
realistic details you will need a
                        chipping hammer, while doing this
make sure the metal is placed on
top of the anvil (the flat surface).
You will now hammer onto the
leaves by hitting it on the edge
                        creating realistic details, you will
have to do this for each leaf. Make
sure you hit the hammer on the
edge to reduce the chances of it
                        becoming dull.
DETAILING EACH PEDAL
                       PRESENTATION TITLE 12
MAKING THE STAR
You will now go up to Mr. Spiers
and ask nicely for a piece of
metal, after acquiring the small
piece of metal you will draw a
star onto it then cut it out with
tinsnips. While doing this task
you will need one safety glove
which would go on the metal
holding hand and safety glasses
                        PRESENTATION TITLE 13
CUTTING AND CENTER PUNCHING THE STAR
After cutting out the star you
will want to center punch it the
same way you did with
centerpunching the pedals. The
equipment needed to complete
this task is "Ruler, Pencil,
Centerpunch, and a Hammer."
The following safety equipment
is "Gloves, Safety Glasses, and
Hearing Protection."

                     DRILLING AND DETAILING
                     THE CENTER POINT
                     Now you will drill through
the center point and to do
so you will need a clamp to
                     hold the metal star steady
                     and a drill with a 1/8 drill
                     bit, after you have finished
that you will now go back to
                     the anvil with the chipping
                     hammer giving it the
                     realistic look to the star.
                     The following safety
                     equipment needed is
                     "Safety glasses and Hearing
PRESENTATION TITLE protection." 15
First you will have to ask Mr.
MEASURING, Spiers for a welding rod, after
CUTTING, AND acquiring that you will now go
PREPARING THE and mark 12 inches on the 24inch
rod. Then you will need a pair of
STEM pliers to cut the rod into 12inches.
                                The equipment needed to
                                complete this is "chipping
                                hammer, gloves, hearing
                                protection, and eye protection.

STARTING TO
ASSEMBLE THE
DIFFERENT PARTS
OF THE ROSE
Firstly, you will need to pick a side of
the stem on which your pedals are
going to be on. Also make sure to
leave a couple of inches from the top
of the rod and make a loop on the top
using pliers. Secondly, it's important
to check if your pedals fit perfectly,
after that is checked you will insert
your star and pedals. Lastly, you will
make another loop at the top keeping
                                           PRESENTATION TITLE 17
your star and pedals steady.
          FORMATION OF
          THE ROSE
After assembling all the parts it's now
time to shape up the rose. To start off
you are going to clamp your pedals
with a Vice, now that you are set up
you will need two pair of pliers with
one you will hold the side of the pedal
and with the other one you will be
turning and twisting the pedal giving
it more of a realistic look. You will
have to do this to all four pedals. The
safety equipment you will need is
          safety gloves
PRESENTATION TITLE 18
MAKING THE LEAVES
For this task you will need "A Pencil, Sheet of
metal, tin snips, and gloves." You will now
draw two leaves on the sheet of metal with
your pencil. After that being done, you will
need to cut the leaves out with your tin snips
while wearing your safety gloves. To make the
leaves look more realistic you are going to
hammer them using a chipping hammer, while
using the chipping hammer make sure it's on a
hard surface and make sure to be wearing
gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection.

             SANDBLASTING
To begin you will first need to get
hearing protection, after that you will
need a vice grip which you will be
clipping your rose and leaves on while
sandblasting them. Next you will open
the machine from its side and be
placing your rose or leaves inside with
the vice grip clipped on. You will now
turn the switch on and press down on
the foot pad to spray the rose and
leaves. After using the sand blaster all
the coating will get removed and make
             the product look much better.
