Thank you for sharing your lesson plan. I appreciate the variety of activities you have planned to engage students in exploring ecosystems. Discussing real-world examples and having students apply their learning through an outdoor activity are great ways to help them understand interactions between living and non-living components. Please let me know if you need any other support in preparing your lesson. Teacher: Thank you for the feedback. I'm glad the variety of activities will help students better understand ecosystems. Your suggestions are always helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to review my lesson plan - it will help me strengthen my teaching.

and mangrove swamps

B. Performance Standard -The learners should be able to form

discussion groups to

tackle issues involving

protection and

conservation of

ecosystems that serve as

nurseries, breeding

places, and habitats for

economically important

plants and animals

C. Learning Competencies/ -The learner should be able to discuss
Objectives the interactions

among living things and non-

living things in tropical

rainforests, coral reefs and

mangrove swamps.

-Identify examples of living and non-living

factors in various ecosystems.

II. CONTENT ECOSYSTEM

( LIVING AND NON-LIVING )

on the board in the correct order in
their respective teams.

Is that clear?
Yes sir!

Based on the activity, what do you

think our lesson for today?

Correct!

Sir! I think our lesson for today is about

living and non living.

B. EXPLORE

With the help of one of our teachers,

we will have a short role-play.

Is that okay with you, students?

Yes sir!

Pond: hey, teacher?

Teacher: who’s that?

Pond: it’s me, the pond.!

Teacher: oh, how are you?

Pond: not good! Humans are dirtying

me.

Teacher: oh, that’s sad

Fish: they are actually harming the

ecosystem!

Teacher: oh, that reminds me about

today’s topic Ecosystem. Come, let me
tell you all about it!
C. EXPLAIN

What is ecosystem?

-Is a community of living organisms along

with their natural habitat and the non-
living components of their environment.

ECOSYSTEM

- Is a community of living
organisms along with their natural
habitat and the non- living components
of their environment?

There are 2 major components of

ecosystem, can someone name of
these two?

Sir! Living and Non- Living

Correct!

Ecosystem includes two major

components:

Living

- Living components are all the

living organisms living in the system.
Non- Living

- Non- living components are the

non-living elements of system.

D. ELABORATE

Ecosystem can be of any size.

Example ocean, puddle, pond, and city

or your country.

Take the area under a rock, for

example.

In this ecosystem, you’ll find living

components like the microorganism,
worms and Non-living components
you’ll find like soil, nutrients, and air.

I have a questions

Do you believe that even us are an

ecosystem?

Yes, you are an ecosystem to the

thousands of microorganisms that
inhabit in you! Yes sir!

Do you think our ecosystem are

important?

Why?

Yes sir!

Correct! Very good.

Because preserving and protecting
ecosystems is essential to ensuring the
long-term health of the planet and the
well-being of both humans and other
species. Human activities, such as
deforestation, habitat destruction,
pollution, and climate change, can have
detrimental effects on ecosystems,
underscoring the need for sustainable
practices and conservation efforts.

E. DEVELOPING MASTERY

Outdoor Activity
I will divide you into 3 groups and i will
assign each group a specific area
within the ecosystem to explore and
write as many as you can see a living
and non-living.

Of course our ecosystem will be the

SB quadrangle and all of us are going
outside.

Do you understand class?

Before we proceed to the group

activity, what do we need to consider
while doing the activity? Yes sir!

You will be given only 10 minutes and

after that your going to share findings
outside. Don’t be noisy

Be cooperative

Your time starts now! Share your idea to the groupmates

(Each group will share their findings)
