RE : NARRATIVE REPORT OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING IN PAROLE AND


PROBATION OFFICE (PPO)

A parole and probation office is a government agency responsible for supervising individuals who
have been released from prison on parole or placed on probation as an alternative to incarceration. Their
main duties include monitoring the behavior of offenders, ensuring compliance with court-ordered
conditions, providing support and resources for rehabilitation, and assessing risks to public safety. These
offices often work closely with law enforcement, social services, and other stakeholders to facilitate
successful reintegration into society and reduce recidivism rates. Overall, parole and probation offices
play a vital role in promoting public safety, reducing recidivism, and facilitating the successful
reintegration of individuals into society after their involvement with the criminal justice system.

On or about 0753H27April2024. I arrived at the back part of the Municipal Hall and waited for my
team mates to arrive. As we were completed we entered the Parole and Probation Office. Ma'am Anna
Carissa Catacutan let us introduce ourselves since it was our first day in the said office. After introducing
ourselves, she also introduced herself. She gave the time to Ma'am Welma G. Divinagracia to have an
orientation regarding their works. The Parole and probation office has its Mission and it is to rehabilitate
and reintegrate persons in the community for peace and social justice. She also talks about the goals,
nature of services and its supervision. After the said orientation Ma'am Anna Carissa Catacutan came
back from their way because they were ordered by Ma’am Divinagracia and she gave us tasks to do from
the rest of the day
of our duty in PPO. At 1150H, She told us if we are done with our work we will be dismissed and we
will continue our work the next day of our OJT on 01 April 2024.

On or about 0808H01April2024. I arrived at the back part of the Municipal Hall and waited for my
team mates to arrive. As we were completed we entered the parole and probation office together. We
waited for Ma'am Catacutan to arrive so we could know what we were going to do during our On-the-job
training. Upon her arrival we were instructed to finish our work that was not finished the previous day.
After she gave the instructions we started doing our work so that in the next day we will encode the
information that we had gathered regarding the petitioner who's assigned to us. After a few hours, She
came back to us again to ask the representative of each group about which case was assigned to us and
everything about our petitioner. She told us about her life experience and how strong she was in every
trial that came to her and how difficult she experienced. She still remained calm and remained strong for
the family so we admire her a lot. At 1200H, She told us if we are done with our work, we will be
dismissed and we shall continue our work the next day of our OJT.

On or about 0754H02April2024. I arrived at the bavk part of the Municipal Hall and waited for my
team mates to arrive. I sat on the chair while waiting for my colleagues to be shown down. There was a
mother who came and also sat near my seat and she asked me what I was doing there and I answered her
as well. She shared a story about what happened to her son who is now in the BJMP. At exactly 0754H in
the morning, we were completed and we entered the Parole and probation office together. Upon entering
we sat down and waited for Ma'am Catacutan for her instructions l. When she arrived she gave us the
folder to continue our work. We encoded the information that we gathered. After we encoded all of the
information needed, we returned to our seats so that the rest of the group could encode their work too. At
1200H, We told Ma'am Catacutan that we were going out so that we could take our lunch.

On or about 0800H03April2024. I arrived at the back part of the Municipal Hall and waited for my
team mates to arrive. I sat down on the chair while waiting for my colleagues. I watched over my phone
while eating biscuits. A few minutes later,my team mates has arrived. As we were completed we entered
the parole and probation office together. When we were inside the office we sat down on the chairs near
the table and there we waited for Ma'am Catacutan so we could know what we were going to do on that
day. While waiting for her we talked about the happenings around us. An hour later, Ma'am Catacutan
came while she brought a bond paper and told us that we made an insight about Parole and probation
office, what is their job and what is their responsibilities as officers in the said office. At 1200H, we were
told by Ma’am Catacutan that we were dismissed.

On or about 0800H04April2024. I arrived at the back part of the Municipal Hall and waited for my
team mates to arrive. While I was waiting for them I was watching a movie on my

cellphone. And upon their arrival, we immediately entered the office. As soon as we entered we sat on the
chairs to wait for Ma'am Catacutan. Upon her arrival and after a few minutes she came to us and he gave
us advice and also told us mistakes that needed to be corrected so that it doesn't happen again in the next
and other agency then she had us edit our Post- Sentence investigation report or PSIR. An hour later, we
went out and bought food and drink to share. At 1200H, Ma'am Anna Carissa Catacutan told us that we
were dismissed.

This picture was taken on our last day of On-the-job training in Parole and probation Office.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible work that you do every
day at the Parole and Probation Office. Your dedication to supporting individuals in their journey toward
rehabilitation and reintegration into society does not go unnoticed. Through your guidance, support, and
supervision, countless individuals have been given a second chance to rebuild their lives and become
contributing members of society once again. Your commitment to fostering positive change and ensuring
public safety is truly commendable. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to justice,
rehabilitation, and community safety. Your work is invaluable, and I am grateful for everything you do.
