BD-100 SUPPLEMENTAL MAINTENANCE MANUAL - PART II
E. Procedure
CAUTION: WHENEVER THE AIRCRAFT IS TO BE PARKED OUTSIDE WITH OUTSIDE AIR
TEMPERATURES PREDICTED TO BE LESS THAN 40 °F (4 °C), THE FOLLOWING
PURGING PROCEDURE MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO
SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
CAUTION: IF AN ANTIFREEZE SOLUTION IN THE SYSTEM CANNOT BE VERIFIED AND THE
AIRCRAFT CABIN WILL BE SUBJECTED TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES, THEN
THE TOILET SYSTEM MUST BE DRAINED.
NOTE: The potable water system will drain to an extent where it will not be damaged or
experience a decrease in performance should it remain installed in the aircraft in freezing
temperatures. However, upon system startup, it is possible that residual water frozen in
the system may cause a blockage of water flow. In this case, an additional delay is to be
expected until the aircraft warms up and normal flow conditions resume.
(1) Drain the potable water system (SMM TASK 12-15-00-680-801).
(2) To service the toilet, do the steps in SMM TASK 12-16-00-610-801.
(3) To drain the waste water from the galley, do the steps in SMM TASK 38-30-00-720-801.
F. Closeout
(1) Remove the electrical power from the aircraft (AMM TASK 24-00-00-861-802) as required.
(2) Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.
