SOLUTION DISCUSSION – THẢO LUẬN GIẢI PHÁP
1.1. Tổng quan part 2
- Tổng thời gian của Part 2: 4 phút = 1 phút chuẩn bị + 3 phút trình bày
- Yêu cầu: Đề bài đưa ra 1 tình huống (situation) và 3 lựa chọn (option). Thí sinh phải chọn option mà
mình cho là tốt nhất/phù hợp nhất với tình huống đưa ra, giải thích lí do tại sao lựa chọn option đó,
đồng thời giải thích tại sao không lựa chọn 2 options còn lại.
Ví dụ:

1.3. Các bước làm bài Part 2
1.3.1. Step 1 – Đọc đề, phân tích đề và tìm thông tin để trả lời (1 phút)
- Dựa theo cấu trúc đề, thí sinh cần đọc và nhận biết được tình huống (situation) là gì? 3 lựa chọn
(option) là lựa chọn nào?

- Nhanh chóng chọn 1 option mà thí sinh thấy dễ nói nhất, có nhiều thông tin nhất để nói. (tìm ra 2-3
ưu điểm/lợi ích)
- Với 2 option còn lại, tìm 1 nhược điểm/option để có giải thích (nếu còn thời gian: có thể tìm 1 ưu
điểm/option)
Ví dụ;
- Situation: My friend is considering buying a birthday present for her mother
- Options:
• A plant
• A bottle of perfume
• A piece of kitchenware
1.3.2. Step 2 – Trình bày câu trả lời (3 phút)
- Trình bày câu trả lời theo bố cục: Mở bài – Thân bài – Kết bài: B1-B2
Giới thiệu lại My situation is that (đọc lại phần situation trong đề: bỏ lại câu hỏi + nếu trong đề
tình huống có “you” thì chuyển thành “I”, có ‘your’ thì chuyển thành “my”, You’re → I’m)

Khẳng định mình - In my opinion, (A) is the best choice for the following reasons.

- If I had to choose among the three above options, I would believe that (A)
would be the most ideal choice for the following reasons.
Giải thích tại - In the first place, (lí do 1: (A) tends to be + Adj). This means (giải thích)……..

- Last but not least, (lí do 3: A is + Adj.) What I mean is that (giải thích).
Giải thích tại There are some reasons why I don’t opt for the other options. I don’t think (B) is

Kết luận In conclusion, if I were in the given situation, I’d choose (A) for the reasons I
mentioned above.

Situation: Your friend’s mother’s birthday is coming. She’s considering buying her a present from
three options: A plant, a bottle of perfume, and a piece of kitchenware. In your opinion, which is the
best choice? Why?
My situation is that my friend’s mother’s birthday is coming. She’s considering buying her a
present from three options: A plant, a bottle of perfume, and a piece of kitchenware.
If I had to choose among the three above options, I would believe that a bottle of perfume is the
most ideal choice for the following reasons.
In the first place, a bottle of perfume tends to be affordable. This means it is not pricey, and
my friend will have enough money to buy it. Additionally, a bottle of perfume is suitable for her
mother. In other words, she is a crazy fan of perfume and she uses it daily.
There are several reasons why I don’t opt for the other options. I don’t think a plant is a good
choice because it’s not suitable for her health condition. Although a piece of kitchenware sounds good,
I don’t choose it because it’s not practical. In other words, she has already had a lot of them.
In conclusion, if I were in the given situation, I’d choose a bottle of perfume for all the reasons I
mentioned above.

5. Your brother has just graduated from high school. Your family is considering a country for him to
