LEARNING OUTLINE
1. Pupils play the Board Race to review/introduce the topic of travel.
Divide the class into groups of five.
PRE Each group needs a piece of paper and a pen.

LES Give the pupils two minutes to write as many words about travel as they can.
SO Each pupil should write one word and pass the pen and paper to the next pupil.

Once two minutes is up, stop the game and ask the groups to count how many words they
managed to write.
2. Pupils relate to the topic for the day.
3. Activity 1:
a. Pupils refer to the vocabulary panel pg 68. (RI)
b. Pupils are asked what they think the topic of the listening activity will be. (RI)
c. Pupils check the definitions in the dictionary on pg 138. (RI)
d. Pupils then use the dictionary to give definitions.
e. Pupils look at the photos in Activity 1 before listening to the text.
4. Activity 2:
a. Pupils read the information in the ticket.

information in Activity 2. (Assessment)
f. Give feedback on their use of intonation, using the audio recording as a model to refer
to.
