REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the national government is adopting the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 as an integral part of the
government socio-economic development program as a commitment to improve the nutritional status of the Filipino people;
WHEREAS, to implement the nutrition program, the Office of the President issued Presidential Decree 491 creating the
National Nutrition Council at the national level composed of different government agencies;
WHEREAS, consistent to the said PD, the Barangay Nutrition Committee should also be reorganized to implement the
barangay nutrition program at the barangay level;
NOW THEREFORE, I STARLENE M. HOSENILLA, Punong Barangay of Barangay Buntatala, Jaro, Iloilo by virtue of the powers
vested on me by law do hereby order;
Section 1. The Barangay Nutrition Committee shall be organized to be composed:

Section 2. The Barangay Nutrition Committee shall have the following responsibilities:
1. Adopt the national food and nutrition policies and strategies;
2. Formulate, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate the Barangay Nutrition Action Plan;
3. Coordinate for the request of grants and loans and their corresponding releases for nutrition program;
4. Generate and mobilize resources
5. Coordinate all requests for grants and/or aid from government agencies, non-government organizations and donor
agencies involved in nutrition program
6. Integrate the Barangay Nutrition Action Plan to Barangay Development Plan/Annual Investment Plan
Section 3. This order shall take effect immediately.
