About the Fest
Festhoma 2024, the Fest of St. Thomas’ School Kolkata, will serve as a vibrant
celebration of creativity, innovation and cultural diversity. With a large number of
schools participating, the event will transform the campus into a bustling village,
bringing together students from various schools across Kolkata.
With the expectation of a large footfall of over 2000 attendees everyday, the event
will create an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement, turning the campus into a
dynamic arena where intellect and creativity will collide. Each fun-filled day of the
fest will witness a cultural fiesta with guest performances by famous artists.

ON-STAGE EVENTS

Rules:
1. The choice of song/piece of music is not restricted to any theme.
2. No musical instruments will be provided by the hosts.

Rules:
1. Each participant will be given a topic on-the-spot via a draw of lots, with no
preparation time.
2. No hesitation, deviation or repetition of a word is allowed while the
performance is on.
3. Participants have to use English words only and will be judged on
spontaneity, method, content and fluency.

DEBATE
Number of participants per team: 2 – one for the motion and one against the
motion.
Duration: 3+1 minutes (Speaking + Rebuttal)
• First 10 applicants.
• The participants are not to wear their school uniforms, they are to be dressed in
formal wear.
• Participants to produce school identity card at the time of registration. If there is
no identity card, the Principal/ Head of the school may send a letter on the school
letter head indicating the participants entry.
Rules:
1. The theme will be mentioned in the first representatives’ meet-
ing.
2. Negative marking if participants exceed the time limit.
3. Media files should be brought on a pendrive and handed over at
the final representatives’ meeting. Also, carry a backup pendrive
on the day of the event.
4. Revealing clothing and any form of obscenity will lead to
debarring the team from the contest.
5. The teams must make themselves available at least three hours
before the commencement of the show.

Theme: Celebration
Rules:
1. One team per school may participate.
2. The performance should be on Indian dance forms and a brief introduction
about the performance should be given.
3. Costume, makeup and props (if any) should be relevant to the performance.
4. Media files should be brought on a pendrive and handed over at the
representatives’ meeting. Also carry a backup pendrive on the day of the event.
Mobile phones will not be permitted.
5. Western music should not be used. Inappropriate dance movements and lyrics
will result in disqualification.
6. The song will be approved by the organising committee.

Rules:
1. The use of props and production material is allowed. (Use of fire, water, foam
spray or any other object that would make the stage dirty is not allowed).
2. Submit the music of your performance on a pendrive during the representatives’
meeting. Mobile phones will not be permitted.
3. Costumes and make-up should be relevant to the performance.

Rules:
1. Any two songs should be performed. Both Bengali and Hindi (film as well as
non film) songs are allowed.
2. Karaoke tracks are allowed.
3. Participants must be in school uniform.
4. Karaoke tracks must be submitted at the representatives’ meeting, on pendrives,
with the school’s name written clearly on them. It will be reviewed.
5. The overall performance (including selection of songs) should be decent and
appropriate to the age group of the participants.

1. There will be 2 categories in which the participating schools will be judged
separately. (solo and group)
2. Pre-recorded music will be allowed for both categories. The tracks in MP3
format must be submitted in advance.
3. Participating schools must carry a backup of the tracks.
4. No instruments will be provided by the hosts.
5. The choice of songs is not restricted to any theme.

1. Each team will be given 1 minute to guess.
2. 1 person will act and the other will guess.
3. No lip movement or speaking is allowed.
4. Correct and complete name must be guessed and an incomplete name will not
be considered.

STAND UP COMEDY
Rules:
1. Topics will be given on the spot.
2. The complete act should be of 2 minutes.
3. Language: English
4. Topics will be given to the participants via a draw of lots.
5. No plagiarism, usage of unparliamentary language or
mockery of any political, social or religious issues will be
allowed.
6. Participants will be judged on the basis of their wit, content,
fluency, presentation, spontaneity and sense of humour.
7. No usage of electronic gadgets will be allowed.

Rules:
1. Topics will be given via a draw of lots.
2. Direct branding/ brand names cannot be used.
3. No plagiarism, use of unparliamentary language or offensive portrayal of re-
ligion/culture will be allowed.
4. Concept and identification of the product should be clear and understandable.
5. All participants must bring their own props. (Flammable material, water, foam
sprays and glass items cannot be used)

Rules:
1. All participants must be formally dressed in professional business attire and
contribute, participate and speak clearly during the presentation.
2. Participants are to create a unique business plan featuring a product or service
including the marketing strategy to be adopted to capture the market.
3. The business may be commercial or non-commercial and must fulfil both
personal and societal objectives.
4. Visual aids, models, music, videos, jingles etc. can be used to pitch ideas in a
creative manner.
5. Soft copies of the presentation must be submitted on a pendrive on the day of
the last representatives’ meeting. Carry a hard copy on the day of the event.

Rules:
1. Participation on a first come basis up to a maximum of 10 teams.
2. No use of phones/ electronic devices.
3. A team cannot be broken up during the course of the event.
4. Participants must be in their school uniform.
5. The team to reach the final point first following all guidelines will be the
winner.

Rules:-
1. The competition will be in the offline mode.
2. No electronic gadgets will be allowed in the competition arena
(mobiles,smart watches).
3. Each puzzle has a unique solution.The participants must achieve this
solution by logic and not guess work.
4. The sum of all numbers in a nonet, row and column must be equal to 45.
5. The puzzles will be provided by the organizers and must be completed
correctly within the stipulated time frame.
6. In case of a tie, second puzzle to be provided.

Requirements:
1. Participants must bring their own cameras, laptops and relevant
accessories. Participants are required to enable and include Camera
Meta Data. Natural light to be used.
2. Students can submit up to 3 images.
3. Images must be in digital format (JPEG OR PNG).
4. Basic Editing and Advanced Editing is not allowed. Any post
production or camera editing will result in disqualification.
5. Camera detail, date and time settings to be included in the photograph
at the time of submission.
6. Images must be submitted through designated online platform or email
address.

Rules:
1. Content must not be against any religion, caste, gender, language etc.
Direct political content will not be allowed.
2. Microphone will not be provided.
3. Props and makeup must be done by participants themselves.
4. Music or musical instruments, if required must be carried by the
participants.
5. Teams can sing/dance by themselves to create the necessary music or
sound.

a) 30 minutes time will be allotted for discussion/thinking /preparation .
b) A time of 4 hours will be allotted for hands on preparation of the video.
Choice of software:
The participants can work on any of the following software:

Rules:
1. Participants have to bring their own hardware. (laptops)
2. Participants have to bring their own software in which they will design their
video.
3. Animation video of 30 seconds.
4. Internet will be provided by the school.

1. Two designs per school.
2. Theme will be given 15-20 days prior to the
show and ONLY authentic designs will be
allowed. (To be judged on the day of the event)
3. The sketch must be done on the day itself along
with the stitching and the rest of the preparation.
4. Vulgarity, inappropriate design, offensive
portrayal of religion/culture/caste etc. is
prohibited.
5. Green room, tables, and plug points ONLY will
be provided.
6. All equipment to be brought by the participants.

Event Rules:
1. The topic will be given at the time of registration.
2. Students are expected to make a presentation of their models and discuss each
aspect of its utility.
3. Participants should carry their own materials and will solely be responsible for
the same.
4. The participants will be judged on the following criteria :

c.Quality of the research.

Theme: Fantasy
Rules:
1. Members of each participating team will be required to bring their own
materials for the competition. Materials will not be provided by the hosts.
2. Each team will work on ONE mask, relevant to the theme.
3. The mask must be distinctive, creative and handmade.
4. The mask should cover one’s full face.
5. No phones or reference will be allowed on the spot.
6. Do not use abusive, antagonizing or inappropriate language on your design.
7. The masks must be stable enough to be worn.

IMAGININK
CARTOONING
Rules:
1. The paper for the art work will be provided. Participants need to bring their
own colours and stationery.
2. The poster must be colourful, clear and easy to understand at a glance.
3. No phones or references will be allowed. Pre-made art will not be allowed. Any
kind of political, religious or insensitive remarks will lead to disqualification.
4. Details of participant (name, class, school) must be mentioned clearly on the
back of the poster.

Rules:
1. Each participant will be given a topic on-the-spot, with 15 minutes for
preparation and 45 minutes for writing.
2. Participants will be given a “prompt” 15 minutes into their allotted 45 minutes
for writing.
3. No plagiarism or use of unparliamentary language will be allowed.
4. Participants will be judged on the basis of the complexity, overall length,
rhythm and diction used in the poem.
5. Length range of a poem: minimum 20, maximum 40 lines.
6. No electronic gadgets to be used.

RANGOLI MAKING
Rules:
1. Use of liquid colours/poster colours/permanent colours is prohibitted.
2. Use of stencils or reference to printed designs will lead to disqualification.
3. No use of digital media.
4. All materials required are to be arranged and carried by the participants
themselves.
5. Materials to be used: Flower petals, chalk, powder rangoli colours or diyas.
6. Size of rangoli: 3 ft X 3 ft

Rules:
1. The menu will consist of 1 veg/non- veg kebab, 1 rice dish and 1 dessert.
2. 1 mocktail to be made as per the theme chosen by the team.
3. Cooking equipment will be provided to the teams. Condiments and material for
table layout will be brought in by the teams.
4. All ingredients to be brought by the participants.
5. One surprise ingredient will be provided to each team to incorporate in the
menu.
6. Aprons, kitchen dusters, knives, peelers to be brought by the participants.
7. The team will be judged on the color, texture, choice of ingredients and the
innovation used in cooking.

Rules:
1. Theme will be revealed on the day of representatives’ meeting on the basis of
lottery.
2. The script along with the crew details to be submitted on the first day of the
fest. The film should be shot within the school campus using your own
equipment.
3. Editing and necessary compilation to be completed on the second day of the
event. Participants to carry their own cameras, laptops and necessary software
for completing their work.
4. Submission to be done through a physical device. (preferably a pendrive)
5. Duration of the film: 5 minutes

Materials:
1. Disposable bamboo sticks with a minimum length of 15 to 20 inches.
2. Any kind of string, yarn, line, rope, etc.
3. Any kind of tape or adhesive.
4. Any sheet material: paper, plastic film, cloth, etc.
5. A handle for the kite pilot.
Construction Rules:
1. After a completed kite is turned in prior to the event, no further work may be
performed on it.
Competition Rules:
1. Each kite should have only one pilot who receives a maximum of three attempts
to fly the kite, with time based on the competition schedule. Launching may be
done from the ground or with the help of an assistant.
2. The kite must be flown for a minimum time limit of three minutes.
Rules:
1. The game will be conducted as per the rules and regulations of the AICF (All
India Carrom Federation); however, rules may be changed according to the
local needs and situations.
2. Each team will consist of two players. All games will be played on a knock out
basis.
3. There will be a toss to decide which team goes first for the board break.
4. Best of 3 boards.
5. The chief referee or judge has the right to change the game plan as and when
required. His decision will be considered as final and binding.

Rules:
1. One team per school.
2. Knock out format will be followed.
3. The match will be a 3 set match with 9 points in each set. Final match: 11
points.
4. The players need to wear proper school jerseys.
5. In the entire match there will be two time-outs of 30 seconds each.
6. Referee’s decision is final and binding.

Rules:
1. Dress code – school football jersey with shorts, shin guards and football cleats.
(compulsory)
2. The tournament will be played on a knockout basis.
3. No metals studs are allowed.
4. One team per school.
5. No extra time will be given.
6. If a match ends in a draw, a direct penalty shootout (3) will take place.
7. All free kicks awarded will be direct and there are NO OFFSIDES.
8. The referee’s decisions on the pitch are final and binding.
9. Rolling substitutions.

Rules:
1. The event will be conducted on a knock out basis.
2. Each game will have three pulls with changing sides. Winners will be decided
on the basis of best of three pulls.

1. In this event the team with the last kite in the air is the winner.
2. The kite and thread will be provided by the organizers. (20m plain thread +
20m manja + 2 kites per school)
3. The participants must bring their own spinwheels. (non-threaded)

Rules:
1. One team per school.
2. Knock out format will be followed.
3. Rolling substitutes will be allowed.
4. Participants must wear shorts with respective school jerseys.
5. No spikes will be allowed.

Rules:
1. Only gearless bicycles allowed.
2. Riders must wear approved helmets. No helmet cameras are allowed.
3. Riders must wear racing uniforms to represent their school.
4. Riders have to follow the pre-decided course.
5. Pushing and pulling among the riders is strictly prohibited.
6. Overtaking should be from the right.

Rules:
1. It will be a knock out event.
2. At the start of the kabaddi match, there will be a coin toss with the winner
having the choice as to whether to have the first raid or not. In the second half
of the match, the team that did not raid first shall begin the second half with a
raid.
3. To win a point when raiding, the raider must take a breath and run into the
opposition's half and tag one or more members of the opposing team and then
return to their own half of the pitch before inhaling again.
4. To prove that another breath hasn't been taken, the raider must continue to
repeatedly yell the word 'Kabaddi'.
5. Raiders may only be grabbed by their limbs or torso, not by their hair, clothes
or anywhere else, and defenders are not permitted to cross the centre line.
6. Each team will take turns in raiding and defending.
7. The team with the most points at the end of the match will be declared the
winner.
8. Unsporting behaviour is liable to be penalized.
