General instructions for participating plus accompanying teacher (only 1 per school):

Schools are requested to open the Google form; click on 1st link to read the guidelines of the
various competitions. Download the excel file and fill the particulars. Again go to Google form
and upload the excel file along with the other details.

 The students are divided into three categories


a. Category I - Classes 7 + 8
b. Category II - Classes 9 + 10
c. Category III - Classes 11 + 12

 A student may participate in only 1 event at a time from one event mentioned in a day
since all events will be conducted simultaneously. However same students
may participate in an event to be held the next day.

 For each group, application forms are attached here with along with guidelines and
judgment criteria. Please ensure that the particulars are filled correctly as all participants
will be receiving a participation certificate. No changes will be entertained on the Final
date.
If a participant fails to appear on the Final day the slot will go empty. Replacements shall not
be entertained.

 The registration fee for every event is as follows:


 Solo Rs 250/-
 Ad - making Rs 750/-
 Rangoli Rs 750/-
 Dance group Rs 1000/-
 Fashion Show Rs 500 / per head

 All participants and accompanying staff will be provided with refreshments against their
food coupons. The same is to be collected at the registration desk on the 1st as well as
2nd day (separately).Also, a Food Court is available for the convenience of the
participants.
The badges provided on the 1st day should be worn on the second day as well by the
participants and the accompanying teacher (only 1)

 The Registration desk will be outside the Main Auditorium. You are requested to confirm
your registration and do a spell check of names of participants, collect food coupons,
badge for participants. Participants can collect their food packets from the food counter in
2nd block.

 Kindly deposit the photograph and audio for the dance(separately) at the registration
desk.
 You are requested to join us for the inaugural ceremony at the Auditorium.
 Participants can then proceed to their respective areas for their events. Volunteer students
will be present to help at different places.
 Participants are requested to wear a formal dress. Girls are encouraged to wear trousers,
long skirts or salwar kameez. School uniforms are strictly not allowed.
 For any competition carrying the phone to the venue will not be allowed.
 Schools are requested to scan the entry forms. Fill in the hard copy and send the scanned
entered form via mail/WhatsApp or drop in the hard copy at BWGS main office latest by
3rd of August, 2024.

 ETHNO GLAM FASHION SHOW: (THEME- ETHNIC)


RULES:
❖ Maximum entries allowed per school -2
❖ Entrants should be from Category II and III.
❖ Individual representation on the ramp by boys and girls.
❖ There will be 2 rounds –
● First Round – Gait and Attire
● Second Round – Gait and Questionnaire Round
NOTE – Participants shortlisted in the first round will be eligible for the second round.

❖ Participants should make their own arrangement for makeup, costume etc.
❖ The Host school will provide the audio track for the walk.
❖ Green room for the contestants will be facilitated by the host school.
❖ Vulgarity and obscenity in any form is strictly prohibited and will lead to debarring the
participant from the contest.
❖ Judgement will be based on – Theme/Attire/Presentation/WalkingStance/Questionnaire
round

 JHAR PIXEL (PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION):


 THEME- “Essence of Jharkhand “/ Architecture / Glimpse of Rural Life

❖ Maximum entries allowed per school - 4 (2 entries each Category)


❖ Entrants should be from Category II and III.
❖ Participants must submit their entries individually on the 1 st day of the fest at the
Registration desk; group submissions are not allowed.
❖ Each participant must submit 2 photographs as entry :
● A selfie at the spot where the photo was taken as a proof of authenticity :
4x6inches
● The second photograph of 6x8 inches size for display with a caption under it.
❖ Entries must be original and unpublished works of the participant.
❖ The photograph should not be plagiarized or majorly edited
❖ The organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with these rules
or that are deemed inappropriate.
❖ The decision of the judges will be final.

 RANGOLI COMPETITION (THEME- NATIONALISM)

❖ Maximum entries allowed per school – 1 per category (3 participants)


❖ Entrants should be from Category II and III
❖ The Rangoli should be 1x1 m size
❖ Participants will be allotted 15 mins preparation time followed by 1 hour of execution.
❖ Permissible materials – coloured powders, coloured rice, natural materials like flowers,
leaves, petals etc.
❖ Usage of permanent colours\ paints\ artificial colouring materials, self-designed moulds,
stencils, hard copy of designs isprohibited.
❖ All required materials to be brought by the participants.
❖ The decision of the judges will be final.
❖ Judgement will be done on creativity/ originality of design / adherence to theme / skill in
execution / visual impact / harmony of colours.

 ART AND CRAFT COMPETITION :


❖ Maximum entries allowed per school – 2 per category.
❖ Entrants should be from Category I, II and III.
❖ Participants should use the material given below ;
● Category I - Newspaper
● Category II – All kinds of mirror
● Category III - Macrame / Jute
❖ Participants will be given 30 minutes preparation time and 1.5 hours for execution.
❖ Use of pre designed / pre attached / pre coloured material is prohibited.
❖ All materials will be scrutinized before the competition.
❖ Electrical gadgets, for ex – driers not permissible;
❖ Glue guns can be used.
 DRAWING COMPETITION:

❖ Maximum entries allowed per school – 4 from each category.


❖ Entrants should be from Category I, II and III.
❖ Topic will be provided on the spot.
❖ Participants will be given 30 mins preparation time and 1 hour for execution.
❖ Drawing sheets will be provided by the organizers.
❖ The students should carry their own poster colours, water colours, oil pastel, etc.
❖ Pre designed sheets / images / electronics will not be allowed.
❖ Participants will be judged on the basis of originality, adherence to theme, aesthetic,
finesse.
❖ Judges decision will be final.

 DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA:
❖ Maximum entries allowed per school – Solo (2 from each category).
❖ Entrants should be from Category II and III.
❖ Maximum entry for group dance 1 (max 5 participants from each school).
❖ The competition will be conducted in 2 rounds.
● First round – Elimination round
● Second round – Final round
❖ Theme should be folk dance / semi classical / classical / patriotic.
❖ Time limit is 3 mins.
❖ The audio track should be submitted in a pen drive to the organizers at the registration
desk. Organizers will not be responsible for any glitch in music.
❖ Dance performance should not convey any indecent gestures.
❖ There will be negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
❖ Props are allowed and are to be arranged by the participants themselves. It should be
feasible for stage use and should be mentioned during registration itself.
❖ Participants will be judged on the basis of theirrhythm,formation,synchronization,
expressions, costumes, makeup set-up and all the efforts.
❖ Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
❖ Negative marking for using fire, any kind of sprays or any other object that would make
the stage dirty.

 CALLIGRAPHY:

 Paper will be provided


 Only ball pen / gel pen / fountain pen can be used; Calligraphy pens and tools are not
allowed
 Extra designs will not be considered during judgment.
Judgment criteria: Correct and smooth strokes / balanced arrangement/ harmony and
aesthetics.

 AD MAKING COMPETITION:

 Topics will be selected on the spot by candidates by way of luck.


 1.5 hours will be given for preparation. Each production has # 1.5 mins # to display
their products
 Each team will comprise of 3 members who will work together in the stipulated time to
make a poster and act a script along with a slogan to advertise their products.
 Participants are required to submit their posters before the commencement of the
competition.
 Chart paper for posters will be provided by the organizers but students must bring their
own art supplies.
 Medium may be English or Hindi.
 Participants are advised to refrain from using offensive /objectionable language or
content.
 EXTEMPORE:

 Medium to be used - English


 Topic will be given on the spot by choice of chits.
 Paper will be provided to take notes about the topic but will not be allowed to carry it for
the speech. Participants will only carry for a pen to the venue.
 There will be 2 rounds for the same –
a. Qualifying round: Each participant will get 1 min to prepare and 1.5 min to speak.
b. Final round: The shortlisted candidates will get 2 min to prepare and 1.5 min to
speak.
 Participants will not be allowed to refer to any material/ books / phone after selection of
topic.

 SPELL WELL:

 On the 1st day of the Fest a qualifying written round will be conducted.
 Each word for the qualifying round will be spoken three times; no reference will be
given during qualifying round.
 Participants qualifying for the second round will be intimated the same day, hence you
are requested to stay back for the results.
 On the 2nd day of fest the final round will be decided. Tie breaker will be used if
required.
 Reference in the form of meaning or usage in a sentence can be asked for by a
participant at the most twice for the Final round.

 CREATIVE WRITING :

 The topic for each category will be given on the spot.


 The word limit is 250. Not adhering to the word limit will result in negative marking
 Paper will be provided but students are requested to carry their pens.
 Results will be declared the next day.

 MELODY MASTERS :

 Time limit for qualifying round : 1.5 min including the preparation if any .
 No person will be allowed to accompany / karaoke will not be allowed in the qualifying
round. Participant may play instrument by themselves.
 During the Final round the qualifying participants can be accompanied/ karaoke.
 Organizers will not be responsible for any glitch that may occur in playing the track via
pendrive.
Judgement criteria: Presentation and confidence/ Song selection/ voice quality/ harmony

 DEBATE:

 Time allotted for each speaker - 3 min + 1 min for rebuttal. :


 Negative marking will be done if participant exceeds time limit.
 Paper will not be allowed.
 One rebuttal will be allowed.
 Topic will be announced on the spot.

Judgement criteria: Content/ wit / reference quotes/ confidence/ articulation

 ENGLISH / HINDI ELOCUTION:

 Time limit: Exceeding the time limit will result in negative marking.
 Use of paper will not be allowed.
 Gesturing / walking is discouraged.
Theme may be: Diction/ Memory/ Voice modulation / Content of prose / pronunciation
 DECLAMATION WITH A TWIST (HINDI):

 Theme: Nationalism
 Participants are required to prepare a speech and emulate with dress / mannerism / speech
a figure of National stature (present or past).
 Participants must dress and report to the venue.
 Time limit for presentation (including stage prep of any) 2 minutes.
 Content should not be offensive in any regard, participants may be disqualified for any
controversial content.
 No props/ audio background can be used.
