5e Warlock Subclass

The Coven
ou’ve made a pact with a coven of witches who

Y
have unified their magical might to become an
otherworldly power. Using strength in
numbers, the coven binds to one another,
allowing each witch to share spellcasting
abilities, arcane knowledge and possess a
shared consciousness.
Every coven is different, not necessarily evil, and can be
crafted around the player at the DM’s discretion. A
coven typically consists of at least three members, with
thirteen considered the ideal size, allowing for a
leadership structure to settle arguments and solve
problems. A leader can emerge inside the coven, which
can be chosen democratically based on wisdom and
respect or naturally with the most powerful leading.
Expanded Spell List
1st-level The Coven feature

The Coven lets you choose from an expanded list of

spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following
spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
The Coven Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st bane, hideous laughter
2nd augury, blindness/deafness
3rd bestow curse, clairvoyance
4th phantasmal killer, private sanctum
5th hallow, mislead

Binding Ritual
1st-level The Coven feature

You can perform a 1-hour ritual to bind one willing

creature to your coven. While connected to you, a
creature can benefit from your Warlock spells. When
you cast a Warlock spell, a willing coven member can
deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. The creature
must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its
reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. If the spell
requires an attack roll or spell save DC, you use your
attack modifier or spell save DC. If the spell has a range
of Self, the spell targets the willing coven member.
This ritual can be performed during a short or long rest,
with any previous creature bonds lost if they still exist.
The coven bond is lost if you die. The number of willing
creatures you can bind to your coven increases to two
when you reach 6th level in this class and three when
you reach 10th level in this class.

Unifying Power
1st-level The Coven feature

You learn the Hex spell. It counts as warlock spell for

you, but doesn’t count against the number of Warlock
spells you know.
Fear the Coven
6th-level The Coven feature

The Coven can strike fear into those who would harm
them. When a creature makes an attack roll against you
or a creature bound by your Binding Ritual that you can
see, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage
on that roll. If the attack misses, tha attacking creature
is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until
you finish a short or long rest.
Prophetic Gifts
10th-level The Coven feature

The Coven grows in power and becomes all-seeing,

helping to guide you from danger. When you are
reduced to 0 hit points and are not killed outright, you
can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead.
Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you
finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th-level spell
slot to use it again.
Bound Suffering
14th-level The Coven feature

You can magically combine the hit points of all

creatures bound by your Binding Ritual ability. As a
bonus action, each coven member within 100 feet of
you, with at least 1 hit point, shares a hit point pool for 1
minute.
This hit point pool equals the total of each affected
coven member’s current hit points with a maximum hit
point value of all coven member’s maximum hit points.
If the hit point pool is reduced to 0 hit points, all
participating coven members fall unconscious and must
begin making Death Saving Throws.
After 1-minute, the hit point pool is divided evenly
between all participating coven members. Once you use
this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long
rest. Join the Gamingbrew Community
