GENERAL - DESCRIPTION

1. General

The doors covered in this chapter are those which incorporate


latching mechanisms or quick-release fasteners. For bolted
panels, reference should be made to the Plates/Skin section of
the appropriate Chapter (53 to 57).

Specific identification information for each door is given


in the appropriate section but permissible damage for all
except the main landing gear doors is contained in 52-00-00,
and should be applied as indicated by references to ‘pressurized’
or ‘non-pressurized’ doors, as defined on Fig.1. Permissible
damage for the main landing gear doors is localized in
52-81-00.

Distinction is made between exterior and interior doors by


Figs.1 and 2.

1. General

Permissible damage tables external doors, with =the


exception of main .landing gear doorst are as follows:-

NOTE (1): Cumulative damage at any one cross section of a panel


is permitted, provided that individual limits are
reduced so that the total damage does not exceed 100
per cent of the permissible limits.

Damage limits quoted apply after removal of damage


and blending out of the affected area.

NOTE (2): For permissible damage tiables concerning the main


landing gear doors, refer to 52-81-00.

2. Restricted Areas .
Damage in restricted areasf beyond the limits indicated, must
be reported to ttm Cuncorde Support Division, Service Depart-
ment, with full details requesting repair procedures.

PASSENGER/CREW DOORS - DESCRIPTION

1. General

This section contains information on the identification,


restricted areas, permissible damage and repair of the
passenger/crew doors. For Permissible Damage, refer to 52-00-~.

2. Forward Passenger Door

The door structure includes a machined, integrally ribbed


n outer skin? vertical and horizontal beams, and a movable

top flap assembly. The structure is partially enclosed
z by boundary members and inner skins.

3. Intermediate Passenger Door

The structure is similar to that of the forward passenger door.

SERVICE DOORS - DESCRIPTION

1. General

This section contains information on the identification and


repair of the service doors. For Permissible Damage, refer

2. Forward, Intermediate and Rear Service Doors

. The door structures include a machined, integrally ribbed


outer skin, horizontal beams, vertical diaphragms and a
movable top flap assembly. The structures are partially
enclosed by boundary members and inner skins.

3. Access Doors ●

The doors which provide personnel access under the nose


fuselage include a formed outer skin, longitudinal channel
beams, tranverse intercostal, skin cleats and stiffeners.
The systems access door hasF in additionp two longitudinal
box ribs. The door structures are partially enclosed by
boundary angles and inner skins.

The system access C300rs under the nose fuselage, and the rear
underfloor service compartment doors~ each consist of a
machined panel, hinges and quick-release fasteners~

INTERIOR DOORS - DESCRIPTION

1. General

This section contains information on the identification, and


repair of the interior doors, Which include a flight compartment
door and four toilet doors.

2. Flight Compartment Door

The door comprises an inner and outer skin bonded to a spruce

frame with internal stiffening members supported by corner
blocks and insulated by foam sheeting. Kickstrips are fitted
to both faces of the door.

30 Toilet Doors

The doors are similar in,constructionr each consisting of two “


panels hinged tQgethex. Each panel comprises an inner and
outer skin bonded to a spruce frame, reinforced by corner plates
and transverse members and insulated by honeycomb material.
Kickstrips are fitted to both faces of the doors.
