Research And Consultancy
Knowledge Is Power
The college lays maximum stress on faculty
upgradation and enrichment through research
projects, industrial and field visits, faculty
exchange programmes and extension lectures. A
large number of teachers are busy in working on
their major/minor research projects. The
academic gains are shared with business and
industry by way of consultancy.
The college has secured a grant of Rs. 1.30 crore
from UGC towards College with Potential for
Excellence Phase-II, Rs. 70 lac under FIST scheme
and Rs. 13 lac under INSPIRE from Department of
Science and Technology, Govt. of India, to further
strengthen and expand the infrastructure of
science departments, keep pace with the
changing times and respond to the complex
challenges of extremely competitive world. The
PG Department of History gets Rs. 7.50 lac per
annum each for Gandhian Studies Centre and Dr
Ambedkar Studies Centre, sanctioned by UGC, for
promoting research and learning activities in the
related fields.
The college has secured a grant of Rs. 1.23 crore
extending over 3 years from Department of
Biotechnology, Govt of India under STAR College
Scheme. The appreciation letter received from
DBT speaks volume about the competence,
zealous involvement and vision of the faculty
members.
Patents
Dr Vibha Chopra, Assistant Professor, P.G.
Department of Physics and Electronics has been
granted patent by the Australian Government for
her invention “RGB emission and solar energy
enhancement in Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-activated
K2NaAlF6 down conversion phosphors by energy
transmission mechanism”. This patent is valid till
30 April, 2029. In addition, Dr. Vibha Chopra has
also published 4 patents for following inventions:
(i) A device for mobile phone sanitization, (ii) A
sanitization device based on UV radiations, (iii) An
ultra-violet sanitizer for PPE kits, Police uniform
and clothes, and (iv) Automatic microcontroller
based ice defrosting instrument.

Placement Cell
The college has an active placement cell, headed by Prof. Vikram Sharma, Department of Computer Science & IT.
The placement cell is responsible for contacting MNCs and organizing placement drives. To groom our students
for facing the interviews, the college provides assistance by organizing mock group discussions, personality
development programmes and workshops on enhancing communication skills & soft skill development.
Many reputed companies visited the college campus and selected more than 176 students during the
session 2020-2022.

DAV College has a strong Alumni Association, patronized by Dr Rajesh Kumar, the Principal and Dr Narotam Bhalla, the President. Every
passout from the college automatically becomes a part and parcel of the entire DAV family. The alumni, our ambassadors in the society, are

Blood Donors' Association
Medical Care
Established in 1986, the Blood Donors' Association is committed to the cause of inculcating
among the students a sense of social responsibility. Blood group of each newly admitted student is
sampled at the start of the academic session every year, entered into his/her Identity Card and its
record is maintained by the college. The institution has tied up with the main hospitals of the city so
that, in case of emergency, we are able to send our students (voluntarily) for blood donation to save
precious lives. Moreover, blood donation camps are often organized in the college by Dr B B Yadav
(Incharge) and Dr Ashwani Verma (Medical Officer), under the patronage of the Principal, Dr Rajesh
Kumar. The staff (teaching and non-teaching) and the students are actively involved in this
humanitarian cause.The college also encourages the blood donors by awarding them appreciation
certificates, prizes and medals on the occasion of Prize Distribution Function every year.
