THE LION AND THE MOUSE
Once upon a time, in a vast jungle, there lived a mighty lion. He was the king of the jungle, feared by all
the animals. His roar could be heard from miles away, and every animal respected him. But the lion was
also very proud of his strength and power.
One afternoon, after along day of hunting, the lion lay down under a large tree to take a nap. The sun
was warm, and soon he fell fast a sleep. As the lion was resting, a tiny mouse came out of its hole
nearby. The mouse was looking for food and didn't notice the sleeping lion. As the mouse scurride along,
it accidentally ran over the lion's paw.
The lion woke up with roar! "Who dares to disturb my sleep?" He growled angrily. With a swift move,
the lion trapped the tiny mouse under his large paw. The mouse trembled in fear, knowing that the lion
could easily crush him. " Please, mighty lion, don't hurt me!" Squeaked the mouse. "I'm so sorry for
waking you up. It was an accident!"
The lion looked down at the small, trembling creature under his paw and laughed. "You are so tiny! How
could someone as small as you help me? You are nothing but a snack!" The lion grinned, showing his
sharp terth.
But the mouse, desperate to save his life, quickly said, "please spare me, and I promise I will help you
one day!"
The lion found the idea of the mouse helping him amusing. How could a small creature like this ever be
of any use to a mighty lion like him? But, feeling generous and still amused by the mouse's offer, the lion
decided to let the mouse go.
"You are free yo go," said the lion, lifting his paw. "But remember, little one, you owe me a favor now."
The mouse, full of gratitude, thanked the lion repeatedly. " Thank you, thank you, mighty lion! I will
never forget your kindness!" The mouse quickly ran back to its hole, relieved to have escaped the lion's
claws.
Days passed, and the lion soon forgot about the little mouse. One day, while wandering through the
jungle, the lion found himselft trapped in a hunter's net. The net had been laid to catch the lion, and no
matter how hard he struggled, he could not free himself. The ropes were too thick, and the more he
tried to escape, the tighter the net became.
The lion roared loudly, shaking the trees with his powerful voice, but no one came to help him. He was
stuck and helpless.
Just then, the little mouse was nearby, searching for food. When he heard the lion's roar, he
remembered the promise he had made. Quickly, the mouse rushed towards the sound of the lion's cries
and found him trapped in the net.
Without wasting any time, the mouse began to gnaw at the ropes with his sharp teeth. He chewed and
chewed, and slowly, the ropes began to snap. The lion watched in amazement as the tiny mouse worked
tirelessly to set him free.
After a while, the net finally broke apart, and the lion was free. He stood up, shaking off the remnants of
the net. The lion looked down at the little mouse who had saved him and felt both gratitude and
admiration.
"You've kept your promise, little mouse," said the lion, with a humble tone. "I never thought someone as
small as you could help me, but you have. Thank you."
The mouse smilled and replied, "Even small creatures can be helpful, mighty lion. You never know when
you might need a friend."
From that day on, the lion and the mouse became good friends. The lion learned an important lesson
that day: no matter how small or weak someone might seem, they can always make a big difference.
