8. Proper UT testing of wheels by trained personnel.
9. Knowledge of staff, their training & refresher courses.
10. Air brake testing, Emergency alarm working & availability of compressor and Single Car Test Rig (SCTR).
11.Availability of lifting jacks & Hoisting cranes and there working condition.
12.Securing of coaches with skids and placement of danger boards.
13.Safe operation of Wheel turning Lathe Machine & adherence of safety norms by operator.
14.Availability of measuring gauges like Tyre defect gauge, buffer height gauge, wheel diameter gauge etc. and
knowledge of their usage and their calibration.

Intensive Examination of Rakes in Yard

1. Yard cleanliness (check for vegetation) , lighting adequacy, air compressor with RTR, welding plant/Portable
& track side concrete/metalled pathway.
2. Rolling-In exam of rakes for loose fittings, skidded wheels & hot axles.
3. Hand brake & load empty device working condition and position.
4. Inspection of under gear, wheel condition, springs, lower spring plank, bolster, side bearer, AR tank & brake
rigging.
5. Brake power examination as per procedure, DV working, IOP, brake block condition, SAB ‘A’ dimension &
proper working, Leakage rate, Brake Cylinder & Piston stroke & continuity test.
6. Brake van air pressure gauge quick coupler & GEV working.
7. Condition of side body & doors, floor, condition of Draw & buffing gears, SBC , Yoke & Yoke pin.
8. Complete inspection of running gear fittings.
9. First aid kit, Fire extinguishers, measuring gauges like Tyre defect gauge, examination lights, wheel diameter
gauge in office & Availability of non contact infrared thermometer & Standard Walkie-Talkies.
10. Staff safety-Helmets, shoes, gloves etc.
11.Rolling in & out exam availability of lights and shelter huts.
12. Maintenance of records/registers.

Sick line Attention Sheds/Bays

1. Infrastructure – Lifting & Hoisting facility, Lighting adequacy, Pit, drainage system, Welding plants, Air
compressor and Road access.
2. Availability of all essential materials at local stores.
3. Availability of measuring gauges like Tyre defect gauge, wheel diameter gauge etc. and knowledge of their
usage.
4. Staff safety-Helmets, shoes, gloves & Safety Goggles.
5. Welding practices and proper earthing, Welding shields, gas cutting equipment and other tools.
6. Availability of SCTR and Air brake testing as per procedure.
7. Maintenance of Records/Registers.

Coaching Depot/Pit-line

1. Pit-Line Infrastructure – Approach road, Pathway for material movement, Pit lights, Drainage System, Portal
lights, watering facility.
2. Availability of lifting jacks, portable welding arrangements & its conditions.
3. Availability of adequate time for examination and slots.
4. Compressor & air pipe line connections, RTR with gauges & Dummy Palm end gauge.
5. Testing of Air Brakes as per procedure.
6. Under gear examination as per procedure.
7. Adherence to the activities listed in Trip/A/B Schedules for ICF coaches & D1, D2 & D3 Schedules of LHB
coaches. Check working of emergency windows.
8. Testing of Fire detection & suppression system in power cars, Pantry cars & other coaches, working
condition of WSP & FIBA, ensuring fire extinguishers in coaches.
9. Detachment of IOH/POH coaches.
10.Effectiveness of Pest & Rodent Control.
11. Hygiene and cleanliness of linens.
12. Stock of all essential materials in stores. Availability of mini stores.
13. Availability of gauges like Tyre defect gauge, Buffer Height Gauge, Wheel diameter gauge etc.

Inspection of ART/SPART/MRV

1. Infrastructure – Approaching road, watering facility, lighting, approach road, charging points, concrete
path, type of exit viz. Single/Double, shed for 140T crane, proper location, office.
2. Condition of Rolling Stock. Whether due for IOH/ROH/POH
3. HRE/HRD condition/Working.
4. Condition and working of all machines/tools /spares & kitchen items. Tools/Equipment as per CAMTECH
or standard tool list as prescribed.
5. Maintenance of registers for movement/inspections. Availability of manuals.
6. First aid equipment, fire extinguishers, sufficient staff for maintenance and restoration works.
7. Condition of gas cutting equipment, compressor, detonators, generators, plasma cutting equipment.
8. Availability of VHF, Walkie-Talkies, VSAT communication link setup, laptop, GPS, Sat phones.
9. 140T crane – Precaution for safety operation check list in driver cab, Availability of consumables &
materials for crane.
10. Working condition & self propelling of SPART, Trial run status, Load testing of Crane, mock drills &
inspections.

Platform Train Despatch

1. Availability & Condition of Rolling In & Out Lights & shelter huts.
2. Staff Personal Safety – Helmets, Shoes, Uniform (Reflective)
3. Availability of emergency items/materials like BP & FP hose pipes, MU washers, DV & LHB emergency
parts at platform office.
4. Availability of Gauges like Tyre defect gauge, Buffer Height Gauge, Wheel diameter gauge etc.
5. Watering facility on platform and drainage system.
6. Availability and working of non-contact infrared thermometers, wakie-talkies.
7. Computer for online BPC preparation, correctness of BPC, air continuity checking of trains.
8. Terminating & stabled trains/coaches locking.
9. Check Fire fighting equipments & First aid kit.
10. Check working Knowledge of staff, whether overdue for refresher courses & orientation courses.
11. Axle box feeling done after rake/train comes to halt.
