DUCK

CROCHET BUCKET HAT

MATERIALS: GAUGE:
⚫ DK Weight Yarn. I used 5 ply milk cotton. 6 rows and 7 stitches in HDC using 4 mm hook =
50g to 100g yarn in color yellow #4 and less than 10g 2” x 2” or 5 cm x 5 cm.

Taking your 4 mm crochet hook and yellow yarn, start off SIZES:

Child/Teen and Adult


Row 4: 1 SC into the first stitch. Repeat (2 SC into the next
stitch, 1 SC into the next two stitches) 4 times. 1 SC into the last
stitch. CH 1. Turn (18 sts)
Row 5: 1 SC into the first stitch. Repeat (2 SC into the next
stitch, 1 SC into the next three stitches) 4 times. 1 SC into the
last stitch. Cut the yarn and fasten off. Weave in the ends (22 3 4
sts) Total of 9 SC sts for baby and toddler, 11 SC sts
for child/teen and adult.
5. Slip stitch into the last two stitches. Cut the yarn and fasten off leaving long tail to sew the duckbill onto the hat. 6. Turn
the duckbill then push the needle through the corner of the duckbill.

ASSEMBLE THE HAT


ASSEMBLE THE HAT
1. Using the long tail of the orange yarn, stitch the duckbill onto the body of the hat. The duckbill should be positioned 4
rows above the bottom of the hat (not including the brim rows). Tie off and weave in ends.
2. Using black sewing thread and needle, sew black buttons onto the hat. The eyes should be positioned in the middle of
2nd and 3rd rows above the duckbill. Tie off and weave in ends.
3. Pinch the duckbill to make a shape.

Or use your best judgment and place the duckbill and eyes where they look best to you.
