❖ Magic Ring : Follow this link for a helpful tutorial…

http://www.crochet-world.com/blog/?p=7618.
❖ Magic Ring Substitution: Ch 2. (Work beginning number of sts in the 1st ch)
❖ Carrying Yarn: http://www.dummies.com/crafts/crocheting/how-to-carry-yarn-in-crochet/
❖ Embroider: Looks exactly like “Surface Crochet” only instead of a crochet hook, you will
use your tapestry needle. https://www.craftsy.com/blog/2015/12/how-to-do-chain-stitch/
❖ Surface Crochet:
https://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-surface-crochet-or-surface-slip-stitch/
❖ Gauge: Not important. You can alter the size of the doll using different yarn and hooks.
❖ Measurements: My dolls came out to about 6.75” from foot to crown of head.
❖ Changing Colors: http://www.crochetguru.com/change-color-in-crochet.html.
❖ Reading the Pattern: To keep my patterns clean and easy to read, I try to use as little
verbiage as possible. Unless otherwise stated, assume that the first st of each row is
placed in the joining st from the previous row.
You will also notice that sometimes the number is in front of the st and
sometimes it comes after the st. Example: 2 Sc. Sc 13. 2 Sc
This is asking you to place 2 Sc in the next available st, 1 Sc in each of the next
13 sts, and 2 Sc in the next available st. Now let’s begin!

1
Legs -

Rnd 1: With R, Ch 1 + 6 Sc in a magic ring. Do not join throughout, unless otherwise stated.

steps to complete the 2nd leg, this time do not finish off.

Torso -

just to the left of where you finished off on the first leg that you made. Place 2 Sc in that st. (Sc
2. 2 Sc) 3 times. Sc 1. 2 Sc. Being careful not to twist your legs, place 2 Sc in the next available
st on the second leg. Sc 1. (2 Sc. Sc 2) 3 times. (34 sts)

Finishing Touches -

Step 1: With W stitch 2 straight lines right next to the right and the left side of the belt buckle
(the grey part). Tie off and hide end.
Step 2: With W embroider or stitch a star on the center of the chest. I stitched mine by making a
star the way that I learned to draw them in elementary school. Next, I stitched over the top of the
star repeating the pattern while weaving over and under the first star. Last, I made a knot at
each tip by weaving under all 4 strands of yarn and securing a knot. Finish off and double
secure end. Weave through the center of the doll.
Step 3: With W embroider or stitch an “A” onto the center of the hat using the photo as a guide.
Step 4: Sew the crotch closed, secure and hide yarn.
