Engagement of Tradesman Trainees - Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961
1. Walk in selection for engagement of Tradesman Trainees - Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act,
1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1961 in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. This
selection is only for Apprenticeship training on stipendiary basis:

5 Electrician Two 28 ITI i.e. National Trade Certificate (NTC)
(aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National
Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in
the trade Electrical.

3. Training Place: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai 400 005.
4. Age Limits:
A. Age below 28 years.
B. Prescribed age should not exceed as on July 1, 2024 for the above posts.
5. Period of Training: As per the guidelines of Apprentices Rules, 1991 and amendment rules.
6. Amount of Stipend: Rs.18,500/- p.m.
7. Apprentices Registration: Candidates are required to register in the apprenticeship portal
https://apprenticeshipindia.org/login and bring confirmation email, at the time of appearing for Walk-
in-Selection, as per the instructions given at the end of this advertisement. Candidate should note the
details viz. Name, Date of birth, Father’s/Mother’s name, Email-ID, Mobile number etc. and retain a
copy of the same till completion of apprenticeship.
8. Online application to be submitted on TIFR website i.e. http://www.tifr.res.in/positions
9. Selection Procedure:
• The selection will be on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the written test and
aggregate ITI marks obtained in all semesters.
• Final merit will be based on 60% of aggregate ITI marks obtained in all semesters and 40%
written test score.
• The candidates will be assessed on parameters/sections as below :
✓ Technical Acumen in relevant discipline.
✓ Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude.
✓ Reasoning Abilities.
✓ ITI syllabus.
✓ Mathematical syllabus.
10. Eligible, registered and interested candidates should bring the below mentioned documents (Original
and Photocopies) at the time of appearing for walk-in-selection:
✓ Printout of Online Application Form with recent passport size photograph.
✓ Copy of Apprentice Portal Registration Confirmation email.
✓ Identity Proof (Adhar Card / Election Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License).
✓ Date of Birth Certificate.
✓ All Educational Certificates.
✓ ITI Mark Sheet and National Trade Certificate.
✓ Conduct certificates from two respectable persons.
11. General Instructions:
a. Candidates are required to apply only for designated trade mentioned in clause 2 and candidate
should possess ITI certificate in the same trade. Candidates of other Trades need not apply.
b. Only fresh candidates will be considered for engagement.
c. The engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act
1961 and the appointment will be temporary. Selected Candidate will not have any claim for any
permanent or temporary appointment in the Institute either during or after the training period.
d. Those who have already availed the apprenticeship will not be considered.
e. Every Apprentice who has completed the period of training shall appear for All India Trade Test to
be conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trade to determine his proficiency

in the designated trade in which he served as an Apprentice. The candidates would be given a
certificate of proficiency in the trade by the National Council.
12. Eligible candidates are requested to bring their application form along with original & copies of
certificates and appear for walk-in-selection on Wednesday, January 08, 2025 at 9.00 am at
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, 1 Homi Bhabha Road, Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai 400005.
13. No TA/DA will be paid for attending walk-in-selection.
14. Candidates will have to make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai during the apprenticeship
training period.
15. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any/some posts herein advertised. Canvassing in any form
shall disqualify the candidate.
