2. Please be informed that on or about 10:00 in the evening of December 12,
2024 a telephone call was received from a concerned citizen of Barangay
Bagani Campo, Candon City, Ilocos Sur informing them that there was a
Shooting incident transpired.
3. On December 12, 2024, at approximately 10:00 in the evening, a shooting
incident occurred at Barangay Bagani Campo, Candon City, Ilocos Sur. The
victim, identified as Juan Santos, 30 years old, single, and a resident of
Barangay Bagani Campo, Candon City, Ilocos Sur, was on his way home from
his workplace at Bagani Hardware Store located in Bagani Campo. Mark
noticed an individual following him while walking along a dimly lit road.
Moments later, the suspect, armed with a handgun, confronted Mark, the
suspect fired a shot, hitting him in the shoulder. The suspect fled the scene on
foot, leaving Mark injured. Nearby residents heard the gunshot and
immediately called for assistance. The victim identified the suspect as Rhone
Banao, 34, who resides in the same barangay.
4. The suspect's motive is undetermined. The case is under investigation, and
the suspect is at large. A pursuit operation is being conducted to arrest the
suspect.

2. On December 12, 2024, at approximately 10:00 in the evening, a shooting
incident was reported to the Candon City Police Station by Jack Kayaten,
a concerned resident of Barangay Bagani Campo, Candon City, Ilocos
Sur. According to the witness, he was on his way home from a nearby
store when he heard a gunshot and found the victim lying injured on the
road. Kayaten also described the suspect, who matched the physical
appearance of Mark Rhone Banao.
3. According to the victim, Juan Santos, a 30-year-old resident of Barangay
Bagani Campo, Candon City, was on his way home from his work at
Bagani Hardware Store when he noticed someone following him along a
dimly lit road. The man, later identified as Mark Rhone Banao, 34 years
old, who a resident of the same barangay. Suddenly confronted him,
pulled out a handgun, and without which, the suspect fired a shot, hitting
him in the shoulder. Mark attempted to resist but was unable to avoid the
attack. The suspect then fled on foot, leaving Mark injured.

2 In relation to a case of Shooting Incident that transpired on or about 10:00 in
the evening of December 12, 2024, at Barangay Bagani Campo, Candon City,
Ilocos Sur. Juan Santos, 30 years old and resident of said place was shot by
his neighbour identified as Mark Rhone Banao, 34 years old resident of
Barangay Bagani Campo, Candon City, Ilocos Sur.
3. Upon receiving the report, the police team, led by COP, responded to the
scene. Initial investigation revealed that the victim, Juan Santos, was
returning home from his work at Bagani Hardware Store. While walking along
a dimly lit road, Santos noticed a man following him. The suspect, identified
as Mark Rhone Banao, 34 years old, also a resident of Barangay Bagani
Campo, suddenly approached him, pulled out a handgun, and shot him in the
shoulder. Despite attempts to resist, Santos was unable to avoid the attack.
4. A case for attempted homicide under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code
has been filed against the suspect, Mark Rhone Banao. Authorities are
continuing to investigate and search for Banao, who remains at large. The
victim, Juan Santos, is reported to be in stable condition and recovering from
his injuries.
