Mini Nativity Set—Notes

COLOURS
You can use any colours you like for the figures—it’s a great project for using up leftovers. However, I would recommended fol-
lowing this method:

Mary—white & blue

Joseph—brown and grey
Shepherds—2 or 3 shades of grey or brown
Kings—use 3 similar colours for each King, for example for King 1 use red/orange/yellow, King 2 use purple/lilac/pink and
for King 3 use 3 shades of green, 3 shades or blue, or a combination of blue and green.

SIZES

The pattern works best using DK yarn and a 4.00mm hook, but it can also be made using 4ply yarn
and a 3.00mm hook—this makes the figures much smaller. The figures will be approximately 7.5cm
tall.

You might find that you need to add a couple of extra rows in the headdress and the cloaks to get
them long enough, if using 4ply.

through the head using a darning needle,
in a neat fashion to create a
hairline. You will need to do this
several times until you have a
full head of hair. Trim and tie it
back. Then chain a halo from
yellow yarn and attach to head.
