Ultrasound Examination – PELVIS (Trans-Abdominal)
TECHNIQUE: Gray scale examination of the pelvis performed using multi-frequency
trans-abdominal probe, in multiple planes with the sonar scanner.
OBSERVATIONS:
Urinary bladder is partially distended and shows normal anechoic lumen.
No mass lesion, calculus or diverticulum is noted in the urinary bladder.
Uterus is anteverted, normal in size and regular in outline,
It size measures about- 8.4 x 4.5 x 6.6 cm.
Myometrium appear normal, no obvious focal lesions.
Endometrial echoes are in midline, well defined and measures about - 1.8 cm.
Endometrium shows arcuate configuration.
Both ovaries showing multiple small follicles of average size 5-6 mm are seen distributed
along the periphery. Mild increase in the ovarian stroma is noted bilaterally.
No mature follicles seen.

No obvious adnexal mass seen.
Cervix in the visualized region appears normal. Cul de sac is free.

IMPRESSION:- Findings suggests change of
Polycystic ovaries.
Mild thickened endometrium / endometial hyperplasia.

Advised clino-pathological correlation and further investigations like Hormonal correlation / follow up with
Transvaginal USG if clinically indicated.
