Part1

Where do you live?

I am from a breathtaking little town named Székelykeresztúr, in the heart of Transylvania, near Udvarhely. I
live in a centrally located, detached house with my wonderful family close to the town center in a nice, kind,
quiet, residential neighborhood with mostly semi-detached houses.

Do you work or are you a student?

I have been studying in Udvarhely’s most prestigious school which was named after a famous author, Tamás
Áron. Due to the fact that this year I will take my final exams, I try to focus on my studies as much as it is
possible. After I graduate I would like to get admitted to Romania’s best law school, so it’s important to me
to get a high grade. Now, as I am a high school student I am financially supported by my parents.

What do you do in your free time?

Due to the fact that I am focusing on my studies, I have very little free time. However, I try to make the most
of every situation so in my free hours I go horse riding. I have been doing this type of sport since I was 10. I
am keen on this hobby since it gives me the chance to stay physically active and forget about everyday
problems. Moreover, as I’m a real social butterfly, I often hang out with my friends and enjoy every get-
together. I take pleasure in spending quality time with my friends outside because I reckon these are
everlasting memories, that bring happiness in life.

Have you thought about what would you like to do in the future?
I would really like to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a lawyer. Due to this plan after I graduate, I
would like to get admitted to Romania’s best law school and then I want to excel in my working legal circles
in a major city.

If you could travel to one country in the world, where would you go?
If I had the chance, I would like to discover the breathtaking wonders of Egypt. I would really feast my eyes
on the magnificent scenery, the scenic areas, and the eye-catching, ancient ruins. Even though I had the
possibility to visit a lot of countries, I have never been to a different continent, especially not in a place where
the stunning pyramids take center stage, which evokes the feeling of entering the setting of a real-life fairy tale.

What sort of things do you use the Internet for?

We are living in the computer age, so even though I don’t spend half my life in front of the computer, I use
the internet on a daily basis. It not only entertains me but also gives me access to a lot of information; thus, it
helps me with my studies. Surfing on the Internet is beneficial since it helps my academic improvement and
going online allows me to keep in touch with my near and dear ones. Moreover, using the Internet is more
convenient to get factual and revealing breaking news, it keeps up to date with the happenings in the world.

Who do you think has had the greatest influence on your life?
In my life, I have many people who have influenced me, especially in a positive way but my parents have
had the hugest impact on my behavior and thoughts. They are the breadwinners in our family so they
supported my dreams not only financially but also emotionally. My parents are the ones who always believe
in me. Their sacrifices have shaped my values, motivated me to pursue my goals, and taught me the
importance of hard work, kindness, and resilience. They are my role models I’m truly grateful for everything
they’ve done to ensure my future.

Do you spend a lot of time with your family?

Unfortunately, as I am in a boarding school, I spend every weekday here, in Udvarhely, far from my
hometown, and I only get the chance to meet close relatives on weekends. However, I always try to make the
most of the time I am with them, whether it’s helping around the house or simply enjoying each other’s
company. The board game parties, family talks, and shared meals are the moments I treasure the most. I
always look forward to those weekends, to recharge my batteries and forget about the stress.

How do you feel about the area where you grew up?
I live in a centrally located, detached house with my wonderful family close to the town center in a nice,
kind, quiet, residential neighborhood with mostly semi-detached houses. Owing to the sociable neighbors
and the trouble-free environment the atmosphere is always positive and cheerful, we get on like a house on
fire, share similarities, and spend a lot of quality time together. I'm glad I grew up there and always had a
playmate.
Part2

Doing things outdoors

Both pictures I would like to talk about present people who are just involved in an outdoor activity. While in
the first picture, there is maybe a family man, preparing food, in the second picture there are lots of students
who participate in voluntary work. They have chosen to do these activities because perhaps the man
organized a get-together in his garden and is responsible for the food, whereas the volunteers who are
collecting the rubbish want to make the world cleaner and greener. The grill man might be cheerful since he
can take pleasure in spending quality time with his near and dear ones, while the group is full of
environmentally-conscious people who don’t take for granted the natural resources and feel they must keep
the environment in balance.

From my point of view, organizing get-togethers is very popular in our country since most people are
social butterflies and enjoy connecting and interacting with others. These are perfect occasions for
celebrating and family reunions because people can let their hair down and enjoy each other’s company,
consuming some delicious dishes.

Different ways of studying

Both pictures I would like to talk about present people who are concentrating on learning. Picture B presents
just one girl, maybe in a library, whereas in picture C six students can be seen around a laptop. They have
chosen these ways of studying because the girl may like working alone in silence but surrounded by books in
case she needs more information, while the teenagers could prefer to study in a group in order to be able to
listen to a more expert person in the given subject, possibly with the help of the internet. Each method might
be effective as our learning style differs, different methods help everyone to develop.

When I have the possibility I study alone, using different books and websites, since in this way I can
concentrate better on my tasks and duties. This method allows me to go at my own pace, and dive deeper
into topics that interest me. Moreover, by working independently, I can prioritize areas that I find
challenging, so I consider it more effective than broadening my knowledge in friend groups.
Part3

- Okay, so let’s take these options one by one.

- All right. Would you like to start?
- If you ask me, choosing an appropriate car is not as easy as ABC, people need to consider the condition of
the vehicle and of course its price
- Yeah, you are totally right. The financial situation has a big influence on this decision, but so does the
choice of residence. What do you think about this?
- I see your point, but I reckon that the neighborhood and the size of the living place influence every
individual’s choice and the distance from important locations.
- That’s true! When it comes to choosing friends people should be very cautious, the decision may be based
on the need to be on the same wavelength.
- I totally agree with you. People can rely on a true friend, so the person’s qualities have a huge impact on
the decision whether to be a friend or not. What about choosing what to study?
- In my opinion, on this issue, people decide based on their interests. Don’t you think so?
- I share your opinion! They choose considering their strengths and abilities. And when it comes to choosing
a holiday destination they usually prioritise their needs, don’t they? However, they often take into
consideration what appears
- I think so, too. At that time of the year, they are influenced by the distance of the destination and the
tourist attractions that can be found there. They must decide on what want to visit and see.

- As I mentioned before I reckon that choosing a friend involves the most responsibility.
- I couldn’t agree more. People must consider whether they can count on him and is not a fair-weather
friend.
- Yes, and it’s important to make sure that does not take advantage of us but offers a shoulder to cry on. So
can we agree that choosing friends requires the most careful consideration?
- That sounds like a deal.
Part4

Is it possible to think too much about an important decision?

I can say without hesitation that people can easily overthink both simple and important decisions because in
some situations we spend too much time analyzing options and we don’t listen to our first instinct. No matter
how important the decision, we must put ourselves first and make decisions of our own free will.
Overthinking can lead to a lot of stress and indecision. If we become in endless deliberation, we can easily
miss a lot of opportunities.

What kind of people can give the best advice when it comes to important decisions?
Speaking from personal experience, I strongly believe that the parents are the ones who can give the best
advice in order to achieve our best. Taking into consideration that they are those who know us from every
angle and they always want the best for us their guidance can be invaluable. Due to their life experiences, we
can rely on them when we sit on the fence, as their priority is our well-being not only physically but also
mentally.

Why do you think some people make bad choices in life?

From my point of view, there are a lot of factors that make people decide wrongly, including both lack of
information and outside influence. Moreover, the fact that people rarely listen to their first instincts and don’t
consider the consequences of their choices can lead to wrong decisions. Additionally, overconfidence or
short-term thinking can also cloud people’s decision-making process.

Do you think people are influenced by the media when they have to make difficult choices?
As we are living in the computer age, technology is all around us and we are glued to social media I can say
without hesitation that it has a significant effect on our decision-making process. Media and famous
influencers can shape people’s perspectives, they make individuals conform to popular opinions or
advertised norms and trends. We need to be cautious and aware of these influences.

What advice could be given to someone who has realised that their choice was a bad one?
As I see it, if someone realizes that his choice was a bad one, he should first accept the situation without self-
judgment. I would advise him to learn from the experience to avoid making similar mistakes in the future.
Moreover, the person who was making the bad decision must move on, take proactive steps if possible, and
turn his life in a positive direction.
