Trunking and Cabling for Drain, Road Crossings, and UGC Installation
Ensure Compliance with Design and Specifications: Verify that the trunking is
sized and installed according to the approved design and relevant specifications
Proper Trunking Angles: Install trunking with a 45-degree angle at bends,
avoiding 90-degree angles, as sharp bends can cause stress and potential
damage to the cable
Support System Installation: Provide appropriate support for the trunking to
maintain alignment and integrity. Ensure that the support system is corrosion-
resistant and capable of withstanding environmental conditions.
Earthing Requirements: Implement proper earthing for the trunking system as
per the applicable electrical standards to ensure safety and prevent potential
electrical hazards.
Seal Trunking Openings: Properly seal any openings or holes in the trunking to
maintain the integrity of the system and prevent any ingress of moisture or
foreign materials.
Drainage Crossing (Under or Through): When crossing drainage systems,
ensure the trunking is either routed under or through the drain. If crossing
through the drain, utilize galvanized iron (GI) pipes for additional protection.
Ensure the drainage system is fully restored to its original condition upon
completion of works.
Road Crossing Requirements: For road crossings, use PN10 pipes with
appropriate PVC slabs for protection. Ensure the installation is carried out as per
the specified standards, including the use of PVC slabs, sand, and crusher run
for backfilling. Upon completion, ensure the road surface is restored to its original
state, minimizing any disruption to traffic or structural integrity.
Underground Cable Installation: Use PN10 or HDPE pipes for cable protection.
Maintain a gap between power and communication cables to avoid interference.
Backfill with PVC slabs, sand, and crusher run, ensuring the surface is properly
restored.
Cable Markers:Install cable markers every 10 meters and at all corners or
changes in direction. Ensure markers are visible and securely positioned for
easy identification during future maintenance.
Testing & Commisioning works
Site testing & commissioning test of PV systems as per IEC 62446, MS
1837:2010, SEDA and other relevant IEC standards.
