Also affected are any part number 505590-401 Reel Assemblies that were shipped in Service Kit SKi 95-1 1,
SKi 95-1 2, SK21 0-1 74 or SK21 0-1 75 from Cessna Parts Distribution on May 14, 2007 through May 31,
2007 that are in Service Station stock.

PURPOSE

It has been determined that some secondary seat stop 505590-401 Reel Assemblies may not always operate
correctly and must be replaced as described in this Service Bulletin. Non-compliance with this Service Bulletin
could allow the continued use of an inoperative secondary seat stop reel assembly.

COMPLIANCE

Mandatory: shall be accomplished within the next 200 hours of operation or 12 months, whichever occurs first.

APPROVAL

FAA approval has been obtained on technical data in this publication that affects airplane type design.

MAN-HOURS
The-man-hours listed below are based on the work being accomplished during a scheduled 100 hour/annual
type inspection.
Inspection: negligible when accomplished during a scheduled inspection.

Reel assembly replacement: 0.5 man-hour per seat.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. See if an affected secondary seat stop 505590-401 Reel Assembly is installed that was shipped in
Service Kit SKi95-11, SK195-12, SK210-174 or5SK210-175 from Cessna Parts Distribution on May 14,
2007 through May 31, 2007. Review applicable airplane paperwork such as logbooks, and/or applicable
work orders and sales/shipping receipts.

A. If an affected 505590-401 Reel Assembly is installed, proceed to Step 2.

B. If an affected 505590-401 Reel Assembly is not installed, proceed to Step 3.

2. Accomplish Service Kit SK1 95-13, SK1 95-14, SK210-177 or SK210-178, as applicable.

Service Bulletin.

SEB07-8A.
Dear Cessna Owner:
This Owner Advisory is to inform you that SEB07-8: Pilot and Copilot Secondary Seat Stop Installation - Reel
Assembly Inspection has been issued.
It has been determined that some secondary seat stop 505590-401 Reel Assemblies may not always operate
correctly and must be replaced as described in this Service Bulletin. Non-compliance with this Service Bulletin
could allow the continued use of an inoperative secondary seat stop reel assembly.
Your airplane may be affected if a part number 505590-401 Reel Assembly has been installed that was shipped
in Service Kit SK195-11, SK195-12, SK210-174 or SK210-175 from Cessna Parts Distribution on May 14,
2007 through May 31, 2007.
Compliance is mandatory: shall be accomplished within the next 200 hours of operation or 12 months,
whichever occurs first.
The information contained in the referenced Cessna Service Bulletin shall be considered an amendment to the
Cessna Manufacturer's Service/Maintenance Manual or Instructions for continued airworthiness, and must be
accomplished for ongoing airworthiness compliance in accordance with 14 CFR Part 43.13.

*The 505590-401 Reel Assembly has three components: the inertia reel assembly, cable assembly
(505530-401), and nut cable end.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1) Disconnect the airplane battery.
(2) Disconnect external electrical power.
C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them.
2. Remove the 505590-401 Reel Assembly. Refer to the applicable illustration in SKi 95-1 1, Pilot Secondary
Seat Stop Installation for the installation location of the reel assembly. Discard the four MS21 042-3 Nuts,
MS24665-1 32 Cotter Pin, and two MS35333-41 Lock Washers. Keep the other attachment hardware.
3. Install the new 505590-401 Reel Assembly in accordance with Ski 95-1 1, Pilot Secondary Seat Stop
Installation. Use the four new MS21042-3 Nuts, MS24665-132 Cotter Pin, two MS35333-41 Lock
Washers, and the kept attachment hardware.
4. Adjust the manual lock in accordance with Ski 95-1 1, Pilot Secondary Seat Stop Installation.
5. Remove maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery.
6. Make an entry in the airplane logbook stating this Service Kit has been installed.

*The 505590-401 Reel Assembly has three components: the inertia reel assembly, cable assembly
(505530-401), and nut cable end.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1) Disconnect the airplane battery.
(2) Disconnect external electrical power.
C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS' written on them.
2. Remove the 505590-401 Reel Assembly. Refer to the applicable illustration in SK21 0-174, Pilot
Secondary Seat Stop Installation for the installation location of the reel assembly. Discard the MS21 042-3
Nuts, MS24665-132 Cotter Pin, MS24665-134 Cotter Pin, two MS35333-41 Lock Washers, and
MS3367-5-0 Straps. Keep the other attachment hardware.
3. Install the new 505590-401 Reel Assembly in accordance with SK21 0-1 74, Pilot Secondary Seat Stop
Installation. Use the new MS21042-3 Nuts, MS24665-132 Cotter Pin, MS24665-134 Cotter Pin, two
MS35333-41 Lock Washers, and the kept attachment hardware.
4. Adjust the manual lock in accordance with SK21 0-174, Pilot Secondary Seat Stop Installation.
5. Attach the 505530-401 Cable Assembly to the seat base as necessary with MS3367-5-0 Tie Straps.
6. Make sure that the 505530-401 Cable Assembly moves smoothly and freely during operation. If it does
not move smoothly and freely, you must move the 505530-401 Cable Assembly as necessary and attach
it to the seat base again with the MS3367-5-0 Tie Straps.
7. Remove maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery.

SK210-178 1 Instructions
*The 505590-401 Reel Assembly has three components: the inertia reel assembly, cable assembly
(505530-401), and nut cable end.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORMV position.
B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1) Disconnect the airplane battery.
(2) Disconnect external electrical power.
C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them.
2. Remove the 505590-401 Reel Assembly. Refer to the applicable illustration in SK21 0-175, Copilot
Secondary Seat Stop Installation for the installation location of the reel assembly. Discard the MS21 042-3
Nuts, MS24665-132 Cotter Pin, MS24665-134 Cotter Pin, two MS35333-41 Lock Washers, and
MS3367-5-0 Straps. Keep the other attachment hardware.
3. Install the new 505590-401 Reel Assembly in accordance with SK21 0-1 75, Copilot Secondary Seat
Stop Installation. Use the new MS21042-3 Nuts, MS24665-132 Cotter Pin, MS24665-134 Cotter Pin,
two MS35333-41 Lock Washers, and the kept attachment hardware.
4. Adjust the manual lock in accordance with SK210-175, Copilot Secondary Seat Stop Installation.
5. Attach the 505530-401 Cable Assembly to the seat base as necessary with MS3367-5-0 Tie Straps.
6. Make sure that the 505530-401 Cable Assembly moves smoothly and freely during operation. If it does
not move smoothly and freely, you must move the 505530-401 Cable Assembly as necessary and attach
it to the seat base again with the MS3367-5-0 Tie Straps.
7. Remove maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery.
