Jigsaw & Blades

Jigsaw blades can provide both straight, curved, smooth and rough cuts. A
jigsaw is a versatile, reciprocating power saw with a wide range of applications. It
is known for making precise, curved cuts and scrolling lines in wood, plastic,
sheet metal or tiles.
Power Saw & Blades

Power saw blades have a toothed or abrasive edge to cut specific materials,
such as wood, metal, and masonry in a variety of applications, including
woodworking, construction, and metal fabrication. Saw blades are replaced when
worn or damaged and are chosen based on the material being cut.
Drill

A drill is a tool used for making round holes or driving fasteners. It is fitted with a
bit, either a drill or driver chuck. Hand-operated types are dramatically
decreasing in popularity and cordless battery-powered ones proliferating due to
increased efficiency and ease of use.
Sander

Portable power tool used for smoothing, polishing, or cleaning a surface, as of

wood, plastic, or metal. Sanders are also used to roughen surfaces in
preparation for finishing. There are three main types of power sanders: the disk
sander, the belt sander, and the orbital sander.
Mitre Saw

A mitre saw is a circular saw mounted on a frame, fixed to a rotating cutting table
to make various cuts across the grain of timber. The saw may have a slide
action, allowing cuts on much wider boards. Without a slide action, it is also
known as a chop saw, or cut-off saw.
Nail Gun

A nail gun, nailgun or nailer is a form of hammer used to drive nails into wood or
other materials. It is usually driven by compressed air, electromagnetism, highly
flammable gases such as butane or propane, or, for powder-actuated tools, a
small explosive charge.
Spray Gun

It is used for less delicate work, such as applying lacquers, paints, varnishes,
shellac, and other finishes to manufactured articles.
Non-Portable Tools
Air Compressor

Large carpentry workshops as well as smaller businesses use compressed air

throughout the entire woodworking cycle: cutting, drying, finishing activities,
sawdust removal, operation of pneumatic tools or large machinery.
Planer

A planer is a type of metalworking machine tool that uses linear relative motion
between the workpiece and a single-point cutting tool to cut the work piece. A
planer is similar to a shaper, but larger, and with a workpiece moving, whereas in
a shaper the cutting tool moves.
Radial Arm Saw

A radial arm saw is a circular saw mounted on a sliding horizontal arm. It is often
used for cutting long pieces of timber to length. It may be fitted with a dado blade
to create cuts for dado, rabbet (a recess or groove cut into the edge of a piece of
material) or half lap joints.
Woodturning Lift

Woodturning is the process of using tools to cut and mould shapes onto wood
while it turns on an axis of rotation. Safety Use a full face shield whenever the
lathe is turned on. Tie back long hair, do not wear gloves, and avoid loose
clothing or objects that may catch on rotating parts or accessories.
Band Saw

A bandsaw is a toothed steel blade passed over two band wheels. It cuts
material held between the wheels. The material may be wood, plastic, metal or
meat. Bandsaws are set up in different ways for different materials.
Drum Sander

A drum sander is a type of power tool that uses a drum wrapped in sandpaper to
sand wood surfaces. The drum is typically made of metal and rotates at high
speeds, allowing the sandpaper to abrade the wood. The sandpaper is wrapped
around the drum and is held in place by a clamp or similar mechanism.
Thicknesser

A thickness planer (also known in the UK and Australia as a thicknesser or in

North America as a planer) is a woodworking machine to trim boards to a
consistent thickness throughout their length. This machine transcribes the
desired thickness using the downside as a reference / index.
Surfacer

Used in the initial preparation of wood, producing flat faces and square edges.
Problems can occur when fingers get dragged between the fence and guard and
contact the cutters. There are four cutters, held in place horizontally with eight
allen screws. Cutter height is adjusted with a gauge.
Jointer

Woodworking jointers are used to make one face of a board, and one adjacent
edge, perfectly flat and square to each other. Jointers are also great for flattening
out cupped boards, removing twist, and preparing board edges to be glued
together.
Spindle Molder

Spindle moulder machines are commonly used to trim and shape wood to make
it ideal for various uses such as in shutters, windows, frames, doors, etc. These
tools also allow tenoning for window assemblage, that is, a milling process used
to join side jambs to head jambs in window frames and frames in general.
Mortiser
A mortiser or morticer is a specialised woodworking machine used to cut square or
rectangular holes in a piece of lumber (timber), such as a mortise in a mortise and tenon
joint
