Pattern

INFO AND TIPS


Stitches used in the pattern:
Rib stitch - knit 2, purl 2
Stockinette stitch - knit in odd rows, purl in even rows
Seed stitch - alternate between knit stitches and purl stitches in each row luke this:
Row 1: * k1, p1; rep from * to the end of row.
Row 2: * p1, k1; rep from * to the end of row.

BODY
The front and the back pieces are made the same way.
With 3,5 mm needles CO 120 (132) 140 sts.
Work 16 rows in rib stitch (k 2, p 2).
With 5 mm needles: Starting from row 17, begin to knit with a stockinette stitch until the
piece measures 51 (56) 60 cm / 20 (22) 23.6”, including the ribbing.
BO all sts.
Work the second piece in the same way.

SLEEVES
Make both sleeves the same way.
With 3,5 mm needles CO 62 (62) 66 sts.
Work 17 rows in rib stitch (k 2, p 2).
In row 18 increase 8 stitches evenly = 70 (70) 74 sts.
Then, continue working in stockinette stitch with 5 mm needles, increasing on every 10th row
1 st on each side of the sleeve.
When you reach, including the ribbing, 42 (46) 50 cm / 46.5 (18) 19.6”, BO all sts.

RUFFLE
The ruffle for all sizes is made the same way.
With 3,5 mm needles CO 452 sts.
Work 30 rows in seed stitch.
On row 31 start decreasing the number of sts as follows: 1 edge st, *k2tog, k3tog* repeat
from * to * until 1 st before the end, 1 edge st. You should have 180 sts left.
Then, work 3 rows in stockinette stitch with 5 mm needles, BO all sts.

FINISHING
Sew the ends of the ruffle together with the mattress stitch.
Sew both pieces of the sweater together at the shoulders with mattress stitch, 15 (21) 25 sts
on each side.

Lay the sweater out flat and arrange the ruffle evenly on it, so that both pieces are placed
right side up. Pin the ruffle in place with pins or st markers. Sew the two pieces together
with a crochet hook by working a hdc round through the ruffle and the sweater sts.
Sew the sleeves flat to the shoulders, and then sew the sides of the sweater and of the
sleeves with mattress stitches.
