Introduction:

Size:

Height: 4 inches (10 cm)

Level:

Requires familiarity with stitches used (below),
attaching safety eyes, and sewing parts together.

Stitches/Terms Used (US Terminology):


MR: magic ring
Sl st: slip stitch
Ch: chain
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
Inc: increase
Dec: decrease
BLO: back loops only
FLO: front loops only

Materials:

~ CROCHET INSTRUCTIONS ~

Cupcake Top

Use white yarn.


R1: In MR, sc 6. (6 sts)
R2: Inc around. (12 sts)
R3: (Sc, inc) x 6. (18 sts)
R4: (Sc 2, inc) x 6. (24 sts)
R5: (Sc 3, inc) x 6. (30 sts)
R6: (Sc 4, inc) x 6. (36 sts)
R7: (Sc 5, inc) x 6. (42 sts)

R8-R12: Sc around. (42 sts)
R13: In FLO, (insert 3 sc in first st, insert 2 sc in next st) around.
Fasten off and weave in the ends. Insert 10mm plastic safety eyes (I placed mine
between R9-R10, 9 sts apart).

Cupcake Bottom

Use brown yarn.


R1: In MR, sc 6. (6 sts)
R2: Inc around. (12 sts)
R3: (Sc, inc) x 6. (18 sts)
R4: (Sc 2, inc) x 6. (24 sts)
R5: (Sc 3, inc) x 6. (30 sts)
R6: (Sc 4, inc) x 6. (36 sts)
R7: In BLO, sc around. (36 sts)
R8: Sc around. (36 sts)
R9: (Sc 17, inc) x 2. (38 sts)
R10: (Sc 18, inc) x 2. (40 sts)
R11: (Sc 19, inc) x 2. (42 sts)
Fasten off with a long tail for sewing later.

Ears (x2)

Use white yarn.


R1: In MR, sc 6. (6 sts)
R2: (Sc, inc) x 3. (9 sts)
R3: (Sc 2, inc) x 3. (12 sts)
R4: (Sc 3, inc) x 3. (15 sts)
R5: Sc around. (15 sts)
Fasten off with a long tail for sewing later.

Flowers (x3)

Use pink/green/blue yarn.


R1: In MR, (ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st) x 5. Pull the ring tight.
Fasten off with a long tail for sewing later.

Horn

Use yellow yarn.


R1: In MR, sc 4. (4 sts)
R2: (Sc, inc) x 2. (6 sts)
R3: (Sc 2, inc) x 2. (8 sts)
R4: (Sc 3, inc) x 2. (10 sts)
R5: (Sc 4, inc) x 2. (12 sts)
R6-R7: Sc around. (12 sts)
Fasten off with a long tail for sewing later.

~ FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS ~
1. Sew the horn to the cupcake top.
2. Pinch the bottom of the ears in half to create a crease, and sew them next to the
ears.
3. Sew each of the flowers to the cupcake top, in front of the horn and the ears.
4. If desired, sew eyelashes using scraps of black yarn.
5. Cut out a circle of cardboard that would fit in the base of the bottom half. Place it
there. (This will provide rigidity and allow your cupcake to stand better.
6. Sew the bottom and top halves together, using the yarn tail from the bottom half
to go into the unworked back loops of R13 in the top half. Make sure you stuff the
cupcake firmly before stitching it up completely.
7. Lastly, add blush to the cheeks and inside of the ears using blush powder and a q-
